@upstreamlax Because the PLL is an apparel and lifestyle marketing company as much as it is a lacrosse league

@Niner_m Excellent read Max - thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Why are coaches at the highest level leaving the profession?
I partnered with The Goalie Workshop to get my thoughts out there:

@11kmrn I sell laundry and dry cleaning equipment to hotels, hospitals, laundromats, schools, dry cleaners.
English

@_SirLaxAlot @coachking_28 But my point is, it was organic. The teams tried to make a connection to their homes. Many players were local HS coaches or did clinics for area kids. It was still glorified summer ball, but the effort was there to be more.
English

@_SirLaxAlot @coachking_28 Not to say the MLL was all good. When your team was on the road it was hope they were the ESPN featured game, or you were SOL. Not to mention a certain JHU/NJ Pride midfielder hitting on my girlfriend at T's Pub post-game.

I’ve seen people calling this a bad take which is funny because he isn’t wrong:
Cities don’t matter one bit lol. The only reason they did cities was to sell more jerseys.
Brice Queener@CoachQ88
We gotta stop acting like the PLL teams and their cities matter. They play ONE weekend a year in a city. There is zero connection
English

@_SirLaxAlot @coachking_28 I was a Boston Cannons season ticket holder for most of the MLL years and I feel zero connection to this incarnation of the Cannons.
At least when Quirk was the coach there was a New England guy running things. Now "Boston" is pretty meaningless on the uniforms.
English

Timely Response!
The Denver Outlaws and the Boston Cannons are a team with deep Lacrosse ties, it would be ridiculous to drop the city names there. California is known for Redwoods, most no-brainer decision there with the city designation. Whipsnakes are cheekily referred to as “the Terpsnakes” for obvious implications. As you can see from these examples, the City designation-Team names make sense and aren’t just random.
I hope this break down helps!

@jordiebarstool It's almost like coaches try to force slides to create mismatches

Quick thought before this 2nd quarterfinal gets going.
It’s time for lacrosse to stop focusing on growing the game. It’s definitely growing, but it’s never going to become a massively mainstream sport. Just make it great for those who love it already
Brice Queener@CoachQ88
For lacrosse to move forward as a sport in the rest of the country’s eyes (non lax /casual fans) the sport cannot be dominated by Ivy league teams.
English

@franzsherbert Now being "well read" means listening to one self-help book per month.
English

@Tamajapo @jc_playmakerWNY Soccer is the OG offender though. HS and college soccer are in one season, but"serious" players are playing summer, and even youth players are spring and fall
English

@jc_playmakerWNY Terrible thing to say. However, I can relate to the perceived frustration. It makes planning difficult, inconsistency on match days. At least where I’m at soccer has always been Fall / Spring. Now sports like baseball, softball, basketball, and wrestling are 365.
English

@allgarbled Yeah I'll cook myself a perfectly good steak but at a steakhouse I'm convincing my dinner partners to go in on anywhere from four to eight sides, which I'm not doing at home. Not to mention kicking things off with seafood tower.
