I’m convinced that relationships have more to do with athlete success than any training plan could alone. An athlete and coach need to have trust in one another, they need to communicate easily, and the coach has to support the athlete. And most importantly, the coach must authentically care and the athlete must know that without hesitation. That’s the magic sauce. Kids will run through a wall for you when that’s the case. The hardest part of that is giving that experience to 70 kids, not just 2 or 3.
