I see a bunch of arguing amongst scholastic coaches last few days in this app which means it’s time for FOOTBALL but one thing I keep seeing is this offense or system doesn’t get a kid LOOKS EVERYTHING about High school Sports Does NOT have to be about Getting “Looks” or “Recruiting” less than 10% get truly recruited. BUT how bout we get kids to LOVE the Sport & Enjoy and PLAY & the ones who do get “looks” actually may perform at a higher level when they are the 5% that get opportunities High school sports is about more than recruiting every decision a head coach makes can’t be about getting 2 out of the 40 guys on his team recruited he’s responsible for a PROGRAM & if more would buy into that the LOOKS they want for their kid would maybe show up more

@CoachShiffman (IMO) Philosophy then players. If you can’t teach or believe in it, I don’t think the players will matter. Lean heavy into what your QB can do and stay as far away as possible from what the OL can’t do. That typically changes year to year in my experience.

Please listen to one of the greats! You have 4 years in HS to play and do all the things you enjoy! If an adult is telling you to specialize they are WRONG, and most likely have an agenda! Every sport makes you better at every sport and a better Teammate!

@CoachTatum90 Down 27-18 in the 4th we called Sprint Draw 2x in a row. 2nd time our QB saw they over played it & kept it (never practiced) for a TD on 4th down. 2pt conversion was a RPO keeper as well. Came back to win 34-27 to beat our opponent for the 1st time 6-7yrs. *Players > Plays*

No, parents. The weight room is not what’s dangerous. The bigger issue is asking kids to play 5–8 games a week year-round, with no true offseason, then blaming strength training when their bodies start breaking down. Lack of robustness is the problem.
