Been talking about this a lot with the hitters I'm coaching. When that helmet goes on, it's time to turn the focus up. Stalk the pitcher like a lion hunting its prey. Like a sniper ready to pull the trigger. Once you strap those batting gloves up and put that helmet on all bets are off. treat that pitcher like he's food. Idgaf what the scouting report says. He's gotta get YOU out. Safety is off and it's time to go into kill mode, winning one pitch at a time.

Seriously interesting how our words and actions impact others not only psychologically but also physiologically. As a player it can benefit you greatly to watch your highlights before every game, even before a practice. Prime your body and mind for success.

Your at bat starts as soon as the game does. How is the pitcher throwing to your teammates? Difference between LHH/RHH? You could spend every inning getting your timing down, don’t just wait until you get to the on deck circle.

Instead of focusing on “hitting .300” this year.. Here are some better goals: • Do your best today • Enjoy today like a kid • Play one pitch at a time • Stay short to the ball in BP • Get in the box the same way every pitch • Left-center or right center • Breathe

One thing people don’t mention often is the power of accountability. For athletes and coaches alike If you make a mistake, own up to it, don’t make an excuse. As a coach I’d rather have the kid that says “I’ll get the next one” instead of “this field sucks” or “it’s the glove”
