Unpopular Opinion - Ethics of reporting results. Coaches have gotten too comfortable with reporting bogus results since COVID. It's obvious when you run a short course, runners wear GPS watches, & Google Maps allows you to measure.

It really isn't that difficult to properly measure a course. It may take a couple of times to get it just right, it's called do diligence. But when you find your course is short, report it for what it is. We gotta do better. We gotta be better. You're setting an example.

I've found courses reported as a 5k that were 2.93-2.96. Why? If you can't get a 5k, get a 3 mi, and report your results as such. Especially, District. You're not helping by misrepresenting results, and you're over-inflating stats. It looks sus when season trends don't match up.

It's been a long while since @WylieXC_TF XC girls & boys have been combined under 1 coach. There's always hesitation w/ change. The girls have bought in to the change! There was concern about their 9mi run on Sat. Never gone over 6 before the merge, but had progressed to 8 since.

@CoachCannon15 This has been my argument for several years, especially w/ distance. What we're seeing today is ego coaching. It's not for the benefit of the athletes. It's for notoriety, & the media keeps glorifying it. I'd rather my athletes have growth in college than fade into obscurity.

If you're tapping a kid's ceiling in 8th,9th, and 10th grade, what’s left for the college coaches???? Buying that 05 G wagon with 150 on the dash! 😒

🚨OPINION🚨 As long as track at the HS level remains a “come and hang out” sport… It will never advance at the professional level. As long as it’s allowed to be considered an “activity” instead of a COMPETITIVE SPORT, it will not reach the masses the way it should
