🔥I’ve always been taught to take a 6 inch step first and then explode with my hands and hips; however… …exploding with the hands and hips first can generate much more force and catch the blocker off guard. Just look at how the blocker’s head snaps back!

@425DC1 Depends if moving one gap or two. Reduce your blocking surface and read the hip of the man you are moving to. Avoid contact with OL unless he creates it.

DL/DC coaches how do you teach DL to move up front? Do you teach an initial 45degree step up field ripping back arm through getting skinny or do you teach a lateral step then get up field? Or another method?

Another Tite Front Q: Is it a rule for the 4i DE to attack the OT unless he blocks out on the OLB, and then the 4i DE attacks the G?

@CoachCogan @blitzologyblog I haven’t ran this in a few years. Learned it from Jim Washburn when he was the DL coach at the Titans. In high school always found it easiest for the kids to line up in heavy 3s and back off the ball slightly.

Anybody that needs great clips of the Saban Read/Fast Tom stunt (what @blitzologyblog calls Torch) needs to watch LSU. They are absolutely nails at it.
