@TommyLocks21 @greerreNFL It probably matters in the sense of when exactly was it dislodged. Before or at the ground—- not a catch. But after the ground —- catch. Without the defender rolling away, that would have been simultaneous possession at worst. Well the roll is after.

Imo, it was a catch by the rule as it is written Rule 8.1.3 requires: A. Secure ball B. Two feet inbounds Then: C. Football move, or ground contact that does not dislodge the ball Cooks does secure possession, and the ball remains firmly in possession after ground contact

I will watch this till the end of time saying Cooks had total control of the ball when he hit the ground

Texas fans are hung up on the loss to Ohio State, and understandably so. But the argument cannot be "swap out Ohio State with Rice." The SEC requires an Power Conference/ND out-of-conference game. It has to be something like "swap out Ohio State with Boston College."
