Can someone familiar with MaxPreps Strength of Schedule formula please explain to me why strength of schedule doesn’t equate to actual strength?

I'm as nostalgic for my NBA playing days as anyone, but watching these playoffs has made one thing crystal clear: The game is as good as it's EVER been. The skill level, the shooting, the chess-match, the star performances. It's all ELITE. Yeah, regular season consumption habits have changed. We second screen. We third screen. I know I do for real. But, man, these playoffs deserve our full attention. I played with and against some legit hall of famers, but what I'm seeing right now is next-level basketball. The NBA is thriving in April. We just need to sit down and watch the stars shine.

@WestCoastFlight Bishops didn’t seem to have a scorekeeper. The home teams scorekeeper is the official book but not having your own scorekeeper makes it a lot harder to successfully argue mistakes.

It’s sad because it ruined it for both teams. Was already going to be a great game, but did detract from Bishops focus (understandably) for a period of time. I’m not sure official policy but shouldn’t there be a scorekeeper for both teams in this instance?

@Daygofootball Coming from the basketball side that will inevitably use the same system, strength of schedule isn’t weighted heavily enough. You often seem teams with great records and low SOS that are over ranked and vice versa.

Folks need to do their Homework.. The Saints had a drastic change over the offseason over 25 players transferred out and they brought in a new Coaching Staff they had to play their D1 Schedule because you cant just scratch your schedule clean every year if they would of had a D3/D4 Schedule and gone 0-10 no way they make the playoffs . D3 was not a cake walk for them they were in 3 Close game games and pulled out the victories .
