Summit View Elementary was recently named Colorado's Best Buddy Elementary School of the Year! This year Summit View Elementary started a Best Buddies chapter to foster an inclusive environment and generate awareness of disabilities. Great job Summit View!

Shout out to Summit View Elementary's Student Wellness Awareness Group (SWAG) who showed off their talents by performing a cardio drum routine before the Nuggets game on January 17th! They performed the drum routine using buckets, balls, and drumsticks. Way to go! #myDCSD

Played “Beat the Ball” today and the students absolutely loved it! Work together to pass the ball down the line and back before the runner. Simplified it for younger students by using a bean bag, closer distance, and less students in line! Thanks for the idea @charteroakpe!

Jump Rope Professional Development! We had a blast working with the PE teachers from Brevard County! We worked all day breaking down skills, providing tips and more in single rope skills, partner jumping, long rope and double dutch! They learned a ton!! Thanks @PELady213!

After showing my 3rd grade student this trick from @MrBiehlsPE , he worked on it the entire the minutes of PE until he got it! The perseverance we teach will help our students succeed in many things! #ElemPE

“Pushing” out the cold weather with this great teamwork activity in #PhysEd! Students used force to push scooter to mat and make the ring slide and land on polyspot to earn points. Had them do it in a push-up position to focus on muscular endurance. Thanks @MrSpringPE for idea!

Added a fun challenge to our low beam station today during educational gymnastics. Students loved it! I forgot who tweeted this idea originally but thanks to that person for sharing! #PhysEd

Vertical jump station for our K-2 students. With the adjustable baskets, we can raise and lower the bar. 😄 I was surprised by just how many students LOVED this simple station. #PhysEd
