My hope is that every athlete I coached, understood that while I sought to bring out their best, I also was one of the people who cared about them the most.

Agree, go to clinics to learn but don’t leave without making new coaching connections. Work camps to teach, but don’t leave without making new coaching connections. Had a a wise coach tell me to have 30 coaches you stay in contact with by sending a text, handwritten note, email, or phone call to one contact per day.

As a young coach I was starved to learn & to grow at a rapid pace. I worked for free & I was not going to let anyone outwork me. I had the biggest of dreams. If I could do it all over again I would have focused more on networking because based on my 19 years of experience there are great coaches who get nowhere because they do not know the right people. Then there are coaches who are not very good at their job & honestly not even good human beings who get to the top because they know the right people. Is having a great work ethic & being a life long learner important? Absolutely. But my greatest advice to all young guys with big dreams is to connect with people who have the connections to get you where you want to be. Find a mentor who has been there done that & will pick up the phone and make the calls necessary to propel your career.

@ClintHurdle13 Heard the same but found to win at places used to losing you have to Over Promise in order to Over Deliver. I believe Curt Cignetti felt the same way when he arrived at Indiana.

I kept this story in my pocket for a long time.... In Pittsburgh, September 15th is Roberto Clemente Day. Every year the whole organization fans out across the city. It's like Christmas. Roberto's family is there, Vera and the boys. My first year as manager was 2011. We celebrated. We shook hands and moved on. We didn't win. 19 consecutive losing seasons. 2012 rolls around. Same day, same celebration. We had another losing season, our 20th consecutive. After the ceremony, Roberto Jr. walked over. "My mom wants to talk to you." We went into the dugout. Me, Vera, and her three sons. She spoke in Spanish. I played four years of winter ball so I understood enough. She wasn't angry, but she was passionate. And I kept hearing Roberto's number come up. Roberto Jr. translated. "My mother wants you to know that there cannot be a 21st losing season. That was Roberto's number. It would be a disgrace to his legacy." She was staring right at me. Before I could even think about what to say, words came out of my mouth: "I promise you, Vera. That won't happen." Roberto Jr. looked at me and said, "You made my mom a promise. I hope you can keep it." I said, "I hope I can keep it too." I didn't tell my coaches. I didn't tell the players. I told my wife. That was it. The next year, 2013, we broke the consecutive seasons losing streak. Ended it at 20. On Roberto Clemente Day that September, Vera came walking across that field. And I probably got one of the most meaningful hugs I've ever received in my life. The players did all the heavy lifting. I just got the hug. Some promises are worth making before you know if you can keep them. @Pirates

Never confuse experience with wisdom. Remain curious. - Approach every day like you have something to learn. • Seek out people who challenge your thinking and tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. • Write down what you learn.

The SCORE Act is on the docket for the House of Representatives next week. Rules Committee meets Monday. A bill vote - if passed by Rules - would be later in the week, likely Wednesday/Thursday. This is the third time SCORE has been on the docket. rules.house.gov/media/announce…

The management failed to lay out a clear launch schedule showing how they plan to get 45 satellites into orbit by the end of 2026. As of now, there is no clear path for them to make it happen, and that will likely put pressure on the stock. The stock price has been built on expectations, so the credibility of the management team plays a major role in the valuation... $ASTS

$ASTS is down ~10% because market wanted a major commercial announcement, a huge upside guide or a surprise acceleration after the stock had already run hard into earnings. I would call it a progress quarter that didn't match the stock’s short-term expectations but don't let the price action create a narrative that isn't there. The company reaffirmed its 45-satellite target by year-end 2026, confirmed BB 8, 9 &10 for mid-June launch, showed better manufacturing cadence with BlueBird 11-33 in advanced assembly, maintained ~$3.5B cash position, expanded launch optionality and added three new U.S. government awards.

On $ASTS, @StockSavvyShay: "This is one of the highest execution risk stories in the market, but the long-term upside is massive." The thesis: a real global communications layer, not a speculative space story.

When I was a high school kid chasing the dream of playing college football, my mom drove thousands of miles all across the East Coast to get me to camps and pursue "opportunities" An endless amount of camps, hotel rooms, flights, gas, gear, and sacrifices just to try to make my dreams of playing D1 Football work. With absolutely no guarantee any of it would pay off🤣 Truthfully, I had no real blueprint. Just belief, obsession, and a dream. But she trusted me enough to let me chase it anyway. She let me make mistakes that affected her so I could learn firsthand what works and what doesn’t in recruiting, training, and the pursuit of this game💯 Those experiences are a huge reason I’m able to help thousands of high school football players today avoid the same mistakes and make smarter decisions for their futures! Players, be grateful for your parents (especially your mom!) and support systems. But please make wise decisions too 😂 Selfless sacrifice. Endless support. Forever thankful. Thanks Mom❤️ #HappyMothersDay 🏈

@joshbdraft I see it as they were just drafted earlier. They were dominant D2 players, entered the transfer portal to gage opportunities, got drafted by a bigger institution, and if they performed their earned a opportunity in the NFL.

D2 was really raided by the transfer portal. No draft picks, only 3 UDFA signings, and about 10 tryouts. I remember when we would see 3-6 drafted regularly, had 11 drafted once, and would usually see more UDFA signings than we are seeing tryouts.

Longevity gurus preach: - Wait 90 minutes after waking to drink coffee and don’t drink it on an empty stomach or you will spike your cortisol. - Intermittent fast for 16 hours. * Bit of a contradiction spiking my cortisol so, I’m going to drink my coffee and eat when I want.

How to choose what college football camp to attend: 1. Closer to home the better. 2. Dream school 3. Favorite D1 FCS 4. Favorite D2 5. Favorite D3 For most, camp attendance is essential if you want to get offered! After camp: 1. Realistically compare yourself to other participants. 2. Accurately determine college coaches interests.

🚨 High School Football Recruits and Parents Not every camp is the RIGHT camp. One of the biggest mistakes recruits make during the summer is attending camps simply because they are popular, heavily advertised, or loaded with big name programs. Be strategic. Do your homework before signing up for any camp. Ask yourself: ✅ Does this school realistically fit me academically and athletically? ✅ Have the coaches shown real interest? ✅ Will I actually get quality reps? ✅ Is this camp built for evaluation or exposure? ✅ Does this camp fit my position and recruiting goals? Mega camps can absolutely provide exposure and opportunities, but recruits also need to understand the reality: ➡️ Hundreds of athletes attend ➡️ Reps can be very limited ➡️ Coaches may only see you for a few snaps ➡️ Standing out becomes much harder without preparation Sometimes a smaller position specific camp or an individual school camp can provide more meaningful coaching, better interaction, and more direct evaluation opportunities. Remember this: Exposure without preparation means nothing. College coaches are evaluating far more than talent: 🏈 Body language 🏈 Effort 🏈 Coachability 🏈 Competitiveness 🏈 Communication 🏈 How you respond to adversity Be intentional with your summer plan. The goal is not to attend the MOST camps. The goal is to attend the RIGHT camps. Right Camps. Right Reasons. Right Opportunity. Make this summer count
