It’s hard to envision many better bats than what Cole Prosek gives you. He uses the whole field with ease — it’s rhythm, pitch recognition, and balance that stay connected through the ball. And man, does he handle good pitching. What’s most interesting about Cole is his innate ability to slow himself down, no matter who’s on the mound. He centers the baseball on the barrel and drives it line to line. When challenged — and I do challenge him — he rises to the occasion every time. I’ve had Cole for three years, and he’s been a sponge from day one, embracing every opportunity to learn. Culturally, he’s everything you want. He’s a competitor, a leader, and a great presence in the clubhouse. On Sunday, in the final game of the Main Event — which, by the way, is not Cole’s final game with us — he faced 95 mph from first-round talent Landon Brown. Brown left one a little too much over the plate, and Cole didn’t miss it. He stayed on plane, stayed through the zone, and drove it into the right-center bullpen at Globe Life Field — a park where the ball doesn’t typically carry that way. It put his team ahead and escalated one of the most talented, competitive games I’ve ever seen. @NB_Baseball @ftrstarsseries #WeGotNow
