@IndStBaseball when you’re tied at home in the 10th and lead off with a double. You bunt.

@conorsen BWJ is incredible. But let’s see some rings first before you trash on Jeter. Being a champion does still count in the real world. Dude was clutch and kept things together. Lots of talented teams w/o a Jeter didn’t win anything.

So Bobby Witt Jr is like if Derek Jeter was actually good at defense plus more power?

@jjcoop36 Guessing a lot has to do with vertical drop of the fastball. Harder velo often means less drop. Difficult for hitters to stay on plain as most hitters have a dip in their swing. Why Nolan Ryan was so successful, almost no drop in his FB from hand to catchers mitt.

Why do college coaches focus on recruiting and developing velocity in pitchers? Because here is how hitters hit against all D-I pitchers in 2025 grouped by their avg fastball velocity. baseballamerica.com/stories/are-co…

The @WBCBaseball is simply awesome. The best of the best battling it out with meaning and heart. So fun and so much better than a normal All Star game.

Age yourself by naming an MLB catcher you grew up watching. I’ll start: Yadier Molina.

@WesClements22 I’m not sure anyone who knows anything about baseball is underestimating the DR. It’s an MLB All-Star team.

Don't underestimate the Dominican team playing the USA manana. They have a loaded lineup and a better pen than we have. Can't wait to watch the games tomorrow !

100% the guns are juiced. 90 today was 85 when we played. I see it every day. I do think players are throwing harder today across the board, but not equivalent to what we see on the radar guns. 85 in our day in HS blew people away. Now 85 gets destroyed. Hitters are that much better, if at all.

@DB_P16 How about rotational strength like med ball throws etc? Those seem to mimic the rotational force of swinging and pitching. Do they generally correlate to greater force in those movements?

Strength training for golfers should not mimic a golf swing Strength training for pitchers should not mimic throwing off the mound Strength training for dancers should not mimic a pirouette Adding weights/band to a sport specific movement is a waste of time

@nextlevelbb Emphasis on “Innate Feel for Throwing Strikes and Getting Hitters Out.” Some dudes throw hard and still can’t seem to miss a barrel.

The high school right handed pitcher that is mid or upper 8's. with Plus Athleticism. Fundamental Delivery. Projectable Body. Loose Quick Arm Action. Feel For Spinning the Ball. Innate Feel for Throwing Strikes and Getting Hitters Out. Plus Competitiveness. Are the dudes college coaches should be lined up to sign. Adding velocity is the easy part.

Take this with a grain of salt though. If your kid can play SS at the level he’s at, he should play SS. College recruiting and pro scouting goes through pitching and SS first. A SS can almost always change positions later, colleges and pros account for this. You can’t move someone else to play SS. In other words, play SS as long as you can!!

High Point won the series vs Florida and took a 3 run lead into the 9th today before losing 12-11. Wonder what the NIL, baseball budget and coaching salaries difference is between the programs? Guaranteed it is millions of dollars. I think NIL and the portal are confusing a lot of P4 programs. Instead of developing, they are now buying a lot of players that are producing a lot of buyers remorse. Paying and treating amateurs like professionals isn't a winning combination.
