Class 1 Boys All-District MBCA All-District is voted on by member coaches within the district. All-District is not an all-district tournament team; it reflects the entire regular season. The top 10 players from each district receive All-District honors (no first or second teams or honorable mention). Ten players receive these honors unless: there is a tie for 10th place (no tiebreakers; all receive honors), the district lacked 10 nominations from coaches, or head coaches chose not to be MBCA members and did not nominate players. The player receiving the most points is named District Player of the Year. Coaches within the district also vote on Coach of the Year. Players are listed by school in alphabetical order. drive.google.com/file/d/1BRn4po…

Coaches, decisions need to be made with winning in mind. Age of player, who donated money, who you "like" better...does not matter. Winning matters. First practice is in two weeks...cannot wait!!

@AJP103 He’s a rockstar. His ability to build positive relationships with every one of his players and staff members is what truly sets him apart. He’s as genuine as they come and I was blessed to see his impact first hand. You’re the man, @Coach_Perkins, and thx for all you do for kids!

I’ve had my fill of people treating my husband so poorly this year. He’s poured his soul into kids for 20 years and he is great at what he does. It’s a thankless job, but never more thankless than it has been in 2025.

Take off your headphones. Ask somebody how they’re doing—and genuinely listen. The news today about the Dallas Cowboys, who took his own life, hit me really hard. My Why- I coach because a coach once opened up to me, got me talking, and built a relationship that saved my life. You never know what someone’s carrying. 💙 Do all my players now and all the players I’ve had previously - I love you. I will always love you. We’re in this together no matter the distance or circumstance I hope you know all you have to do is call. #TheMotherSh1p

Every coach has seen it... talented athletes who never last. Not because of skill, but because they aren’t coachable. Athletes who listen, accept feedback, and stay accountable? They win. They last. They grow. Talent fades. Coachability doesn’t.

10 Inconvenient Truths of Coaching 1. Not every kid wants to be great. 2. You will often be misunderstood. 3. Some parents care more about playing time than team success. 4. Your best players aren’t always your best leaders. 5. No system works without buy-in. 6. Success brings criticism, too. 7. Culture isn’t built in a week, it’s built daily. 8. You can’t coach every player the same way. 9. Wins don’t always reflect your impact. 10. The job takes more from you than it gives… until years later. Still worth every second. Still a great profession.

10 championships. 88 straight wins. Yet John Wooden said success had nothing to do with winning. His wisdom on leadership and life still leads the scoreboard:

Kelvin Sampson doesn’t mention the word talent once here. He talks about attitude, effort, body language, and being a good teammate. Because those are the habits that consistently win.

Part time players vs full time players Part time •Late •Workout when it’s convenient •Don’t always work hard •Expect more with less work Full time •Early •Disciplined with workout schedule •Engaged and hard working •Love the process •Encourage teammates to be better
