@Seth_3773 Good food source. Processed food is bad for you and is probably 99% of what most kids eat. It doesn’t fuel the body, doesn’t build lean muscle and thus could cause illness, obesity and injuries.

@Seth_3773 Many variables to this. Covid. I have a cough so I’m not going to school or work because I might have Covid and there is no consequence. Pay to play. I don’t want to lose the parents money so the kids back hurt but I’ll still play him on Saturday even though he missed practice

Coaches, is it me or are kids “hurt” more today? I mean they say they are hurt? I feel like we played through so much more? We looked for ways to stay on the field opposed to kids today finding ways to get out of the work on the field? Am I the only one seeing this?

@Seth_3773 I think we played a lot less when we were kids. These kids go 12 months a year. You see it in the majors now too. The body needs to recover play other sports to use and strengthen other muscles. The specialization at such a young age doesn’t help at all with this, IMO.

@Seth_3773 Being babied. Yes this happens to. We aren’t tough. We are soft. See it all the time in young adults. Can’t handle adversity and need to hide for a while. I played on sprains and torn muscles and broken bones. I loved to play they don’t.

@Seth_3773 Entitlement. It’s not worth the fight just let him play because they missed a week for the 5th family vaca of the year. It’s not worth the fight. Overuse. Kids do structured training 10-12 months out of the year. And don’t cross train. I could go on and on

Why are so many HS athletes calling their coach by first name only? “Coach” is an earned title. Not referring to a coach as “Coach ____” is disrespectful.

@ImCollegeSoccer We've personally seen many players (all years) play soccer over summer, show up to preseason, fail the fitness tests and wonder why Playing soccer is NOT the same as getting ready for the fitness tests. If it's not too late, stop playing for a few weeks and prep for fitness test

With all the MNT talk I’ve decided a big part of the soccer problem is just shit coaches at the youth, pro and college level. Not all by any means but some that ruin this for kids. They can’t get licenses but are responsible for the players. Is insane.

@ImCollegeSoccer I think this is probably a good idea. When they switched it before I really didn’t think it would be an issue, but kids not playing with their friends in their same grade was an issue. It shouldn’t be a development problem, but I saw a lot of good teams that weren’t good anymore.
