Word of the day is ‘tamalou’: a French name for an older person who no longer greets their friends with ‘how was your holiday?, but with ‘t’as mal où ?’, ‘where does it hurt?’. There follows an enthusiastic account of aches and pains and doctor’s appointments.

When people say they really care about kids it’s often only their own kids they’re referring to. They’d sell out the child of a stranger in a heartbeat to let their own get a step ahead. I witnessed this yesterday and it was BRUTAL.

@MoveBravely I haven’t used an alarm clock in years. It used to be nice waking up to gospel music playing. I get over 8 hrs sleep nightly, but my sleep pattern is pretty much up and down, so I still feel tired when I wake up. 🥱

I gave up my alarm clock this year, and so far it has made no difference. I get the sleep I need. All those years in the 5am club didn't make me richer or more successful (although sometimes they let me claim some necessary "me time").
