@RonDeSantis Let the market decide. People will pay for what they want to watch, that shouldn’t be forced or regulated by the Gov’t or anyone else. Athletic careers have a very very small window and these athletes should be allowed to maximize their value as they see fit.

Under the current system, we should expect to see more sports being cut.
Reform of NIL/portal/eligibility will help preserve non-revenue sports.

Actually, AI/Robotics will mean everyone can have a penthouse if they want. The output of goods & services will be several orders of magnitude higher than today’s economy.

There was no vote today on the age-based eligibility idea, per ESPN sources. That was expected. The next step is proposing ways it will be phased in. The NCAA DI Cabinet is expected to meet on May 22 to discuss further.

UPDATE: The NCAA DI Cabinet will hold a further discussion on age-based eligibility later today. This idea would essentially eliminate redshirts and give college athletes five years of eligibility starting when you graduate high school or when you turn 19. Whichever is earlier.

@nynole55 Why? The schools are paying market value. Why should an athlete (whose career is most likely over by 24ish) be the only job you aren’t allowed to make as much money as possible or switch jobs as you wish. Every other worker can do those things to their ability level.

Sad that President Trump wants to put the money and control back in the schools hands. This limits a Student-Athletes ability to make money while putting the universities back in control of their careers. Yet politicians have no limits on their earnings. Bad deal for SA’s.
