@CaptainCons @based_coach1 I think the right kind of training can 100% make you more athletic.
English

@CaptainCons @based_coach1 Athleticism is the physical ability to perform sports or movements with skill, characterized by a combination of strength, speed, agility, and coordination. It involves efficiently controlling the body, accelerating, and changing direction, often refined through training - Google
English

If you put your kid in this “training” at 7yo it is nothing more than a fancy daycare
At 7-14yo your kid doesn’t need training or to specialize in a sport. They need to be a kid.
Play multiple sports. Play pickup sports with their friends outside. Not every waking moment needs to be scheduled for kids.
If you disagree with me then go listen to all the pro athletes who say the same thing
Joey Bergles@JoeyBergles
I train kids from every sport imaginable. They all train as “athletes” If a 7-14 year old gets more athletic - they’ll get better at their sport.
English

@based_coach1 @CaptainCons We have lost this a lot in this generation. Parents are to busy pushing more games/events on kids and they are missing the training and development aspect. If you arent a part of the 1% thats born athletic. You have to grasp the importance of training quick to even have a chance.
English

@CaptainCons @Coach_Hall12 I get what you’re saying but you can still teach athleticism. Sure, they’ll never be like the genetic 1%ers who were born to be athletes, but they can become significantly more athletic and reach their genetic ceiling better if you get them at a young age.
English

@CaptainCons @based_coach1 I think we have different definitions of athleticism.
English

@Coach_Hall12 @based_coach1 I think there is a difference between teaching a kid to move his body a certain way and athleticism where the former is a facade for the latter
English

@CaptainCons @based_coach1 You really dont think training in certain movements can make a kid athletic? I definitely understand certain individuals are born more athletic. But if you catch a young awkward kid early you can make some serious changes. I have seen it first hand with multiple kids.
English

@based_coach1 If you can’t skip or jump without being taught then you aren’t athletic. Not everyone is athletic. Thats ok. Not everyone is meant to play sports. No amount of coaching will turn a kid into an athlete if he/she lacks basic athleticism

Rodgers saying that Will Howard has what it takes to be a guy in the NFL.... that's my takeaway.... and every Pittsburgh media member that hates Will for no reason is going to hate that.

I love coaching Linebackers.
Here are 3 reasons why Linebacker is the greatest position in all of sports.
Versatility
Linebackers are asked to do everything.
One play they’re taking on a 300-pound Lineman.
The next play they’re covering a speedy Running Back.
Linebackers must run, tackle, cover, blitz, shed blocks, you name it.
All in a day’s work.
Mental Preparation
Linebackers need to be dialed-in to the entire playbook.
They are key to both defending the run and covering the pass.
Linebackers must take great pride in scouting opponents and reading plays.
They can never watch enough film.
Teamwork
The Linebackers are the connectors of the Defence.
They must have great relationships with both the Defensive Linemen and Defensive Backs.
The Linebackers are often the vocal leaders of the unit.
They set the tone.
—
Football is the ultimate team sport, and every position is important.
But there’s definitely something unique about that Linebacker spot.
