The best athletes I’ve coached have had an obsession with their craft. They aren’t merely passionate about it. They’re obsessed. With training for it. Watching it. Playing it. Analyzing it. All of it. It’s not normal. Which is why they tend to do uncommon things with the game.

True in sports - True in LIFE!

True leadership is rooted in relationship. To lead them, you must know them.

Resilience is a learned trait that life callouses into you, but only when you’re able to set aside emotion and let purpose drive you forward. We humans can do hard things. Keep showing up.

Culture doesn’t carry over from one game/month/quarter/season/year to the next. That’s accidental leadership. Culture is created through consistent daily actions. It's not about what we did yesterday, it's about who we are today. Show up intentionally. Live the standard daily.

Better doesn't mean perfect. Growth doesn't mean perfect. Success doesn't mean perfect. Perfect is an unhealthy and unrealistic expectation. It kills too many dreams and goals before they ever get started. Perfect isn't possible, but progress is. Take the next step. Get better.

Your pity for others does little. Especially the receiver if it. Often times it’s just a way to soothe the guilt you’re feeling. Show you care rather than saying you care. We see and feel much better than we hear while we’re hurt.

Average people show up occasionally. The greats show up consistently. Commitment > Convenience Do the work.

We’re into our 2023 season preparations but one final accolade was announced for the 2022 season and that was Bennett Painter being named the Cincinnati Sports Awards Boys Soccer Player of the Year! Sam Hughes was also nominated for the award! Congrats! youtu.be/TACLjJKcop0

Everyone faces adversity. Nobody likes adversity. The best use adversity to get better. Own your mindset. Own your growth.

It doesn’t make sense to continue wanting something if you’re not willing to do what it takes to get it. If you don’t want to live the lifestyle, then release yourself from the desire. To crave the result but not the process, is to guarantee disappointment.
