One of the reasons I think the best are the best, is because they don't make excuses. They don't 'B-C-D': ❌ Blame ❌ Complain ❌ Defend Leadership is an action, not a position!

Sean McVay said, "We attack success. We don't fear failure." There will always be challenges. There will always be setbacks. But when you're afraid to fail, you paralyze yourself. You're not playing to win, you're playing not to lose. When you worry about failure, you hold yourself back more than the failure itself ever could. And when that happens, you're not living life to the fullest. You're not pushing yourself to your limits, and you're not growing. 4 Ways To Get Past Your Fear of Failure: 1. Reframe Failure as Feedback Failure isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of bravery. True growth only happens when you learn from your mistakes. Take time to sit back and reframe your thoughts, language, and perception around challenges or “failures” that have happened to yourself or others. Embrace those challenges. 2. Embrace a Growth Mindset A growth mindset starts with the belief that your abilities and intelligence can be developed through hard work, dedication, and perseverance. "Failure" is not the end but an opportunity for learning and growth. View it as a step towards success rather than a permanent setback. Growth only happens when you learn from your mistakes and make it a habit. 3. Run Through The Worst Case Scenarios Run through what would happen if you do "fail". This allows you to face your fears head-on. List and those fears and the potential obstacles that may be hold you back. Think through the worst-case scenario and plan the steps to mitigate it. This process allows you to put your fears under a microscope and consider the potential benefits of taking action. 4. Be Courageous and Accept The Cost of Action To face your fears, you need to accept your environment and have the courage to push through. Accept that there are different outcomes that may happen, but one result doesn't define you. Focus on the price of not taking action and think about what it would be like not to try. Understanding the cost of not trying empowers you to confront your fears, take calculated risks, and move closer to your goals. "I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." –Michael Jordan - - - Follow @coachajkings for more content like this!

Research shows 5 major factors or resilience: 1. Accepting reality even if it's hard. 2. Asking for help. 3. Being patient; knowing what feels like forever in the moment is not. 4. Narrative that you'll grow from struggle. 5. Routine—helps to activate and provides predictability.

Just think how much we can each and all create for sake of good, if we deliberately transmute the impulse to gossip or engage in ineffectual criticism, into thoughts and actions that actually build something. Choice points to do this abound.

BCD (blaming, complaining, defensiveness) is toxic, and it erodes the human spirit. It is a thief that robs us of happiness and hope, and it deceives and seduces good people into making bad decisions.

One of the hardest but most important practices: realize that you are not the stuff inside your head. You are the awareness that decides what to do with the stuff inside your head. The ability to choose which thoughts to pursue and which to leave behind is key to everything.
