Rosters have officially been finalized for the 2026 5A-6A NTHSBCA All-Star Game.
Some absolute DUDES on these rosters!
Make plans to come out to Riders Field on June 8th at 7 PM to see these athletes represent their school one more time!

Hitting is timing. Examples of delivery tempo variations to destroy hitter’s timing. More prevalent today with many pitchers just working out of the stretch. Fair # of roll throughs out of the stretch with no one on base. Has a big affect on hitters with leg kicks.
Don't let anyone tell you the 2-strike approach is dead.
Enjoy this absolute masterclass from Mauricio Dubon.
After two whiffs on 97 mph fastballs he got a third. He dropped the leg kick, spread out, no stride and smoked a base clearing triple to right field.
This was an exceptional awareness base running play by Nico Hoerner in yesterday’s Cub-Phillies game. He was on the front end of a double steal. The ball got by Bohm & Nico had his head on a swivel looking towards the OF & saw the ball get way from Bohm. He also saw Tuner sliding to stop the ball. He had the presence of mind to stay with the ball even though he shut it down( For sure got verbal help from Quintin Berry 3B Coach) Turner stops the ball & as he starts to throw the ball it slips out of his hand. Nico reacts & scores.

Infielders spend the least amount of time working on plays in the forehand lane and this is why we see so many errors in the mlb on balls hit to infielder's left. The 5 hop drill is a great foundational drill that teaches infielders how to dominate the 5 different hops on plays to their left.

The half-kneeling wall t-spine mobilization is one of our favorites for getting the upper back moving. Many people don’t know that there are different variations/progressions you can incorporate to deliver incremental benefits in different populations: ericcressey.com/half-kneeling-…

Where will Luke Esquivel (@luke_esquivel) land in the updated 2027 @FiveToolTexas 55?
He’ll make his debut after reclassifying and the odds are VERY strong LSU commit will be inside the top 10.

Interesting part of this cutoff & relay play is the depth of the tandem relay lined up to HP. Even though the ball is hit down the line( Smaller part of the field) the 1st throw is on the longer side. They are relying on Tucker’s arm strength & accuracy. It is very personnel dependent. If the RF has a lesser arm or the 2B has a + arm the lead man in the tandem may go out further & making the outfielder’s throw shorter.
Stop neglecting your upper body movement work

Slider Grips
SL is a pitch where you'll see more grip variations depending on a pitcher's mechanics & arm slot. @coachdanblewett demonstrates 5 different grips in 21 seconds below. As he notes, how to throw SL properly is the most important aspect.
I discourage being a pitch / grip snob as it relates to a pitcher's pitch mix. Mechanics & arm slot + nature of how to throw a pitch will dictate each pitcher's arsenal. Personally, I threw my SL with 3rd grip below.
