In full transparency, our 2027 Select Team didn’t have their best tournament last week🫣 BUT… For the college coaches who were there, know that in their 3 tournaments, their Assist % was 71%🔥 To put that in perspective, I coached a college team that set school record and finished top 20 in the nation for assists. They were 54%. Our Select Team players will be fun to coach in college💯

I knew you’d understand why I responded🤝 My perspective, and what I tell players about that situation, was I scored a lot of points without moving because I knew the defense had to. So that’s my viewpoint for coaching and our numbers back that up. Just like you wouldn’t do what you do if it wasn’t effective and your data showed that💯

We’re both #BeYouCoach so it’s ok to disagree and be you💯 I’m one of those coaches. I like staying in both corners. Let defense move, while shooters stay shot ready. IMO leaving shooter in corner makes the read easier and better passing angles. Help = 3. No help = 1v1 at rim

The group they tied came from teams where over half won District Titles and ALL 10 had winning records🔥 Obvious why they won💯 Only 3 of 11 in this 2027/28 group came from winning teams. But for us, they combined to win 70% of their games😤 As a HS and college coach, I used to ask opposing coaches questions to learn from them, so I could get better. I still ask questions to learn from other coaches. Going from losing, to winning at a 70% clip against better competition, would definitely draw my intrigue, especially if I was one of their HS coaches🤓

Open Championship leader Sam Burns played with Bryson DeChambeau today and he said the fans were very supportive of him after yesterday’s ruling. He also said he didn’t think Bryson deserved the penalty: “I thought the fans were very supportive of Bryson today. We didn't discuss it any. “In my personal opinion, I honestly feel bad for Bryson in the situation that he was in. From my perspective, I didn't feel like maybe there was enough evidence for him to deserve a penalty there. “I feel bad for him. I think he played an incredible round of golf late yesterday, and it's unfortunate to have something kind of like that where they come in after your round and tell you you're being docked two shots. “But props to him. He came out and played a really nice round of golf today, and that takes a lot of grit to be able to come out and do that. So I was impressed.” @TheOpen

Tiger Woods had a boulder in front of his ball removed by his fans = ok Bryson DeChambeau tramples on grass behind his ball = 2 stroke penalty Golf rules can be 🤪 I’d be so mad I’d just say give me the 2 stroke penalty, I’ll beat you anyway! Literally how I handle AAU scoring discrepancies😅

Obviously others have that same opinion. But strictly by the rules, without definitive evidence, it goes back to his word. And these 2 champions, including a British Open Champ, are saying what I’m saying. Regardless if we believe there was intent, it cannot be definitely proved here

@Coach__Strick Well, I played college golf 100 years ago. We always policed ourselves I guess. There is a rules committee for a reason. And lots of video that any player would call that penalty. The second he stomped on that grass, it’s a penalty in my opinion.

@tony_chapman76 You know from playing college golf (I was a college golf coach) that if he said he didn’t do that, he wouldn’t get penalized. Bryson saying he didn’t improve his lie and the R&A saying “we don’t believe you” is a huge change to this game of honor

Thank you! This is the point I’m trying to make, but probably comes from tour champions better than me saying it. Unless there’s definitive proof, which there wasn’t, it can’t be called. They ask him, he says no, they play on. For them to penalize him anyway isn’t the intent of the game IMO

@Coach__Strick @JustinKontul03 It’s based on rule 8.1. He stepped on grass and broke/bent it and potentially improved his swing path. I can’t disagree other guys could probably get called for that a bunch, I’m not sure why they aren’t. But that’s the rule.
