I worked with a D1 player and a D3 player this morning. On paper... They looked almost identical. 6'4 200 pounds... Both had elite bat speed. Both had power. Both were physically gifted. But there was one difference. Every time the D3 player mishit a ball... He complained. He got frustrated. He pouted. Then he'd struggle for the next 3 or 4 swings. Pop-up. Ground ball. Weak contact. The D1 player? He'd mishit one. Make an adjustment ...And move on. No emotion. No drama. Just the next pitch. It reminded me of something I learned playing professional baseball... Sometimes the biggest difference between two players isn't their talent. It's the conversation they're having with themselves in their head after they fail. Your bat speed matters. Your swing matters. But the operating system between your ears matters just as much. The best hitters I've been around don't waste energy explaining why they failed. They spend their energy figuring out what to do on the next pitch. - Jermaine Curtis P.S. The next time you mishit a ball, don't ask, "What's wrong with me?" Ask, "What's my adjustment?" P.P.S. - If you enjoyed this, and thought it was helpful, share it. (It tells me you want more content like this)

One of the biggest mistakes I see in recruiting... 👇 Young players acting like certain opportunities are "beneath" them. A chance to play college baseball...at the NCAA Division I, II, III, JUCO, or NAIA level - is something very few people ever get. Someone believes in you. Someone is willing to invest time, money, coaching, and a roster spot in your future. That's not something to take for granted. That's something to be humbled by. Be grateful. Keep developing. Keep earning. The logo on the jersey doesn't determine how far you'll go. Your work ethic, development, and performance does. ⚾️

Here’s exactly what that person/org should be/have/do: • Respected by families who just went through it (go ask them — they’ll tell you the truth) • Proven track record of opening real doors at multiple levels — not just “I know a guy at a D1” • Real network across the full spectrum (D1 down to Juco/NAIA) • Straight shooter who deals in facts, not opinions • Tells you what you need to hear, even when it’s uncomfortable • Genuinely cares about your outcome — not just the next placement or paycheck Find that person (or organization) and commit to the process with them. The recruiting noise fades. The path gets clearer. Long-term development beats short-term hype every time.

HS players and parents chasing college baseball — this is the single most important piece of advice I can give you: Find ONE person you trust and stick with them. NOT the fanciest social media account. NOT the guy selling you a dream. NOT the org telling you what you WANT to hear One trusted guide who actually knows the landscape. Full breakdown of exactly what to look for 👇

College Coaches, If you’re still looking to add impact players in the 2027 and 2028 classes, I have a few prospects that deserve a serious look. This is the deepest, most complete showcase group I’ve coached, and I believe several of these players have legitimate scholarship-level ability. 2028 | OF/RHP • 85–87 mph on the mound • True two-way prospect • Plus runner with legitimate extra-base power • Multiple home runs this summer • High-academic student from an outstanding family • Projects on both sides of the ball at the next level 2027 | C • Middle-of-the-order bat • Currently contributing with our Legion and AAABA clubs • 84–86 mph on the mound, but his future is behind the plate • Athletic catcher with real power, leadership, and toughness • One of the most complete competitors I’ve coached 2027 | RHP • 87–88 mph • Tall, athletic, loose, and still developing physically • Competitive edge every time he takes the ball • Plenty of projection with more velocity still in the tank Video, TrackMan data, and verified metrics are available on all three players. If your staff is still evaluating the 2027 or 2028 classes and would like to see video, analytics, or catch them at an upcoming event, send me a DM.
