One of the MOST complicated decisions in coaching. Rural America has; multi sport athletes, farmer kids, missionary trips, church camps, other sport camps, kids that work to support the family that can’t be with you all summer… We also have a culture to protect. Play every kid with any excuse to not show in the summer… you lose the room. Don’t play every kid in the any excuse and you lose games and are looking for another job.

I recently reached out to a coach for game film on a mutual opponent. His response is one most guys have said at some point in their career. “Here’s the film coach. That #15 was a STUD! If they’d give the ball to him more, we would’ve lost that game. We couldn’t stop him.” Don’t be the guy that loses games because you won’t get the ball to your playmakers.

Both possible in this senario. I understand the original poster, I mean, designating a coach to do this has to be a positive no? Even if it results in one kid being noticed is it not worth it ? If it gets a coach to look at a single piece of film, is that not worth it?

Across the country, it’s not needed. Do you know how many hs programs there are? There’s like 15k. Over a million hs football players. 2% get a scholarship. I get it you love what you do but, you’re trying to create a job that just isn’t needed. What is needed is to go back to what high school athletics were created for, to teach lessons of life.

Ekeler obviously doesn't like rhule. I think this statement suggests Rhule was not as involved as he should have been in the day to day stuff. Maybe that's for the best? I do know the podcasts and all that need to stop. It didn't get attention for there university. It gives attention to Rhule.
