@PatricRidge I think that is fair, but i also think we have to be realistic and expect JB to break down again, i want to see JOB at CB as i think he will be a high level CB for us, but another one should be signed too. Right back and left back priorities as you say,

@Coal1878 All depends on Branthwaite but personally once the RB is signed (that's the priority) I think J'OB is an automatic upgrade on Keane and as iffy as Tark has been, he looks noticeably poorer next to Keane than either of the others.

Little choice but to play him today, but IIroegbunam having a stinker. Constantly giving it away, constantly playing sloppy passes and over-dribbling. Rohl has been fine out of position and showed some decent pace for the chance. Really nowhere near as bad as being made out.

@PatricRidge I agree with you, we did deserve it, poor defending from our center backs cost us, I do think CB is more of an issue than people realise on the summer

@Coal1878 Everton deserved to win that game. By every metric. I think it was a good performance overall, 2nd half the kind of football Evertonians want and the team needs to do more of, let down by 2 very experienced CBs switching off.

@PatricRidge I agree with you on this definitely I want to see that ambition from top to bottom, when I refer to change I don't just mean the manager I mean everything at the club

@Coal1878 Need to see that same ambition from the ownership/leadership group that elected to keep their powder dry in January when Europe was such a clear opportunity. That's fine if that's their plan, good on them to sticking to it. But not sure it bodes hugely well for 'ambition'.

@PatricRidge I think that is a fair comment, Moyes isn't going to change but I think that's the biggest problem with him, second half was much better and rohl was very impressive which is a good sign

@Coal1878 I'm not suggesting people can't expect better from Everton. I simply mean why do people seem to convince themselves that Moyes is suddenly going to change? I've been genuinely impressed with Rohl.

@PatricRidge Horrific I agree would be a exaggeration but we have been this turgid safety first boring football team in multiple games and it's resulted in a loss, and it's not even just against the likes of city, it's just poor, this is not the football I want Everton to play at home.

@rustyrockets @piersmorgan Utterly embarrassing, have some shame, stop the grift, own up to your actions and stop with this utter sham performance. It is your worst acting performance of all time, and that's saying something.

Wait! @piersmorgan I’ve found that verse!! The really important thing is that we, you, me all of us are loved. And not because of anything we have accomplished or ever could achieve. But because of who loves us.

@PatricRidge Where did i say i didn't think they elevated the team? i think they have to a certain point, but thats what i would have expected from the most expensive loan in our history and a player like KDH. But its more about the development of the other investments we made in the summer.

@Coal1878 Not sure how you can disagree that KDH and Grealish elevated the team. I think you're wrong, you think I am. I respect that. But unless they could get Iraola, not sure I want to change anything yet. Doesn't mean I think Moyes should be here in 2 years.

@PatricRidge He would have flogged beto if he could have got any other striker through the door, which he didn't, thats because he had already determined beto not good enough, so he didn't have any other option but to try and play and develop barry.

@Coal1878 He could have just flogged Beto if that was the case. He also wanted to sign Delap, who is the same age as Barry. So again, not sure this is a good argument to back up your case. I don't disagree at all on the other young players being underused.

@Coal1878 He's given Barry plenty of time. It's on the player to develop. He will have ups and downs but (another poor display today aside) looks better for the PL then when he signed.

@PatricRidge If thats what you think, fair enough, respect your opinion. I do not want moyes to have any influence on the transfers going forward, and i do not trust him. He's done the job i wanted him in to do, and i would much prefer to move him on in the summer, that's my opinion.

@Coal1878 But both elevated the team overall, which was what was needed last summer. I think that's where they went wrong, personally. But now they have the younger players in place and can hopefully look at adding straight to the team this summer.

@PatricRidge They were the best players because they ought to have been, he also played them come rain or shine, and would not drop them even when they had poor performances, which both did.

@Coal1878 And the two older heads who did come in were by far the best signings. All Everton need to get right this summer is not go for more under 21s, just get those 23-26 bracket, for impact in the first team.

@PatricRidge He has not developed any of the talent he brought in in the summer, he has completely failed on that regard, i dont even know how that can be up for debate.

@Coal1878 If it was this long term pain you're so sure will happen, Everton would have spent on Soucek, or they'd have spent big in January on older players. They didn't, they stuck to their plan.

@PatricRidge This has been the poorest version of the PL in some time, it has never been easier for a club like us to challenge or even get into europe, and we would be comfortably there if the manager could set us up to win more games, we have lost / dropped points against horrendous teams.

@Coal1878 And there's nothing in Everton's spend of the last couple of years or last summer to then suggest they have a right to have the edge on any of the other teams around them. Today has been a poor performance, and looks leggy, but only takes a minute to change.

@PatricRidge That is not a definitive case, things can be changed within one summer with smart recruitment, the disaster from the summer is also down to moyes, you could argue his transfers and business have been destructive at his last few clubs. Will not blame him alone on that, though.

@Coal1878 But it happens over a long period of time. The poor recruitment done last summer was IMO on younger players, but they could well prove to be good investments in a year or so's time. My point was Everton are in the race because they are about as average as most other teams.

@PatricRidge He has done a ok/decent job, nothing more, nothing less. But i am quite confident in my beliefe he hinders even more than he does progress us. It is utterly short term gain long term pain, and we will achieve nothing of note with him as the manager.

@Coal1878 Who? Look at wages, agents fees and transfer fees across the last 3 years. Everton are where they are because of that. I'm not saying it's an incredible job this season, but they are a mid-table team. A mid-table team this season is good enough to at least challenge for Europe.
