@JagzMoneyy @brazmonkee ofcourse and as a low tier player im for making things like shield drip n such consistent, I just don’t like that value to get those kinds of things is different. a small change yes, but different than what it is normally. that is mainly my point

@CobbNose @brazmonkee while making inputs consistent does make the better characters more consistent, i dont think any low tiers enjoyed having their backdashes eaten or shield drops not work because their controller wasnt top tier. id say it evens out. low tiers do better now than ever lol

@JagzMoneyy @brazmonkee looking back I didn’t need to say that, I think what I meant was that it caters to top tier character players, making the better characters even more better than the lower tier characters and further widening that tier gap by making their strong techniques stronger

@CobbNose @brazmonkee well u specifically state the version now "caters to top players" when the fixes in UCF and other things, which i assume ur referring to, were to actually bring everyone closer, since only the top players had access to these controllers that could do these things consistently

@JagzMoneyy @brazmonkee if that’s the case then I can see it being a fine change, but that still leaves the issue of increasing the dash back window. could ucf not just made it that it is a consistent input without increasing the amount of time you have to dash back?

@CobbNose @brazmonkee dashing back wasnt even a "hard" input, it was an RNG input, with the RNG being dependent on ur controller and how it polled the input. there was no "getting better" at it other than finding a controller that polled it more consistently. not a test of skill at all

@brazmonkee i feel that, it does feel awful when playing vanilla melee and that happens. but i have to wonder if that occurs because we have been conditioned to how it works on a modded version, and if we as players could not just get better at it rather than changing the value as a crutch?

@CobbNose I get that but if we were playing vanilla melee again, dashing back becomes an advanced technique. A technique a minority of the community can perform. In your eyes it makes it cool to watch but for competitors it becomes unbearable to play lol

@brazmonkee i didnt say it was an advanced technique, all im saying is changing values like those ive mentioned previously can mean a big difference for certain characters that wouldnt happen on original hardware

@brazmonkee perhaps i am a little naive. ive been out of the loop for a while, but when i have played on vanilla melee and then a ucf version, the difference is so drastic that i feel it is straying away from the original version and turning into this altered version that isnt melee anymore

@brazmonkee i understand that, and ucf certainly isnt a bad thing. what i am talking about is how it makes certainly mechanics like shield dropping or dash back easier by changing their windows on the stick; ultimately causing interactions that wouldnt happen on original hardware
