Yesterday, we stepped into something that has clearly been built with intention. Cocoland Farm Resort was officially launched in the presence of media houses and influencers across different platforms. Marking a moment that felt both exciting and well-earned. The day began with a press conference, where insights about the vision, the journey, and what Cocoland stands for were shared openly. From there, we moved into a full tour of the space. Walking through what is already in place and what is still unfolding. #VisitCocoland

And then came the experience. A feast of local food, refreshing drinks, and light entertainment. The kind of atmosphere that lets you settle in and truly take in a place. But Cocoland is not just a place you go to unwind, although it does that beautifully. Set in Buikwe District with views of Lake Victoria, it offers that calm, serene environment many people look for. At the same time, it stretches far beyond relaxation. True story. Amos Wekesa (@wekesa_amos) has been a turning point and a true inspiration in my journey. Many people often wonder why I’m always dressed in either the Rwenzori Marathon kit, Team Uganda kits, or the Gulu Marathon kit. The answer is simple it’s because of the love, mentorship, and openness Amos has shown us. The moment Wekesa looked at me and my brother (@WasswaEmma_) and said, “you are my adopted sons,” I didn’t take it lightly. That statement meant everything. It showed how deeply he appreciates what we do and believes in us. While in Tanzania, he introduced us to the Minister for Tourism and proudly said, “these boys are amazing, they are my adopted sons.” I quietly walked back to the car… and I cried. Not out of weakness, but out of gratitude. The Rwenzori Marathon has now become part and parcel of our identity. It’s no longer just an event it’s a movement we proudly associate with. And we’re honored to continue working together again this year. @CMasiga @mbjorgum

Personality Profile: Dushime Silia( @DushimeSil14142 ) Dushime Silia is a passionate and fast-rising figure in Uganda’s tourism space. Her journey into becoming a Travel Specialist member is rooted in consistency, exposure, and a deep hunger to learn. She first gained visibility through her active participation in Miss Tourism, where she contested for Miss Tourism South West. During this time, she stood out not just for representation, but for her commitment to engaging in tourism events, learning about destinations, and building meaningful connections within the industry. Her dedication did not go unnoticed. Wasswa Emma (@WasswaEmma_) identified her potential early and took her under mentorship. Through guidance and exposure, she was able to transition from an enthusiast into a professional within the tourism ecosystem. However, her journey into the Travel Specialist community was not immediate. Even after being recognized and introduced through mentorship, she did not join right away. It was her consistency, her visible love for the brand, and her unwavering passion for the tourism industry that eventually earned her the opportunity to become part of the Travel Specialist community. Today, Silia has grown into a strong pillar among members. She is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration at university, balancing academics with practical industry experience. Despite still being a student, she is already earning through the networks and opportunities she has built proof of her proactive mindset and ability to turn passion into income.
