Well what do you know? @CodyforTexas @Burrows4TX @DadePhelan are these men selling out Texas to line their own pockets? That's the question? Third Coast Bank has significant connections to both former Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen and current Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan: •Dennis Bonnen: He was previously the President, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Bank before it was acquired by Third Coast Bank in late 2019. Post-acquisition, Bonnen sits on Third Coast Bank's Board of Directors. •Dade Phelan: His brother, Lan Phelan, was a director at Third Coast Bank from 2013 until at least 2016. Additionally, Third Coast Bank's Beaumont location has been leased from Phelan's family investment firm, and Dade Phelan owns shares in the bank according to his personal financial statements. These ties have sparked discussions, especially in political circles, regarding potential conflicts of interest, particularly in the context of the Texas House Speaker elections and political maneuvers within the state government. State Representatives Cody Harris and Dustin Burrows, who have been mentioned as potential candidates for House Speaker, also have connections to Third Coast Bank. Harris is employed by the bank as Vice President of Business Development, and Burrows (through his spouse) is a shareholder in the bank. These connections have led to scrutiny over how these relationships might influence political decisions or the legislative process in Texas. However, one should consider both the direct information and the broader context of political influence and financial entanglements in such analyses. It's notable that these affiliations were discussed in posts on X, indicating public interest and concern over the intertwining of banking interests with state politics. What I’ve learned in Austin is those who accuse you of something are usually doing it. Legislative Bribary, huh? This is what Cody Harris is pointing his finger at @abrahamgeorge saying he's doing by educating voters…. Hmm, you decide? #txlege

Why should access to school choice be limited to only the wealthy and well-connected? What about families who aren’t as fortunate? What options do they have if they’re stuck in a school that doesn’t meet their needs? #SchoolChoice.

This one of the rare moment when a @DadePhelan cardinal (@leachfortexas) opposes an amendment, is caught lying in an attempt to use a Senator as a shield for his personality driven position, and then is forced to reverse himself on his position. #txlege
