@shantplace This is exactly why Spider-Man 2 is still the best Spider-Man movie. It understood the character perfectly.

THE HIDDEN RULES BEHIND OSCAR NOMINATIONS 🚨 - You might find this surprising, but making a great film isn’t always enough to win an Oscar. - To even qualify for Best Picture, a movie has to meet at least 2 out of 4 official standards. - Because of this, a lot of genuinely good movies don’t end up getting nominated. - These standards are also why people feel that diversity is sometimes being pushed too deliberately. - One of the key requirements is that at least 30% of the cast must come from underrepresented groups. - This diversity rule doesn’t stop at actors it also applies to directors, producers, and crew members. - Part of that requirement specifically includes having non-white individuals in the team. - On top of that, filmmakers are expected to provide internships to people from these groups. - They also need to offer proper training programs to help them enter the industry. - And it’s not just the creative side these rules extend to areas like marketing and distribution too. - Even the people making business decisions around the film are expected to be diverse. - If a movie doesn’t meet at least two of these standards, it simply won’t get nominated. - Now, on the positive side, this does open doors for people who’ve been underrepresented. - But on the flip side, some films end up being made mainly to tick these boxes. - That can make the diversity feel forced instead of naturally fitting into the story. - In some cases, it even affects or compromises the original storytelling. - So next time a movie gets ignored at the Oscars, it might not just be about quality it could be about not meeting these standards.

@shantplace Brand New Day happening at the same time is the most logical. What do you think? 🧐

There’s a reason why Tom Holland’s Spider-Man was removed from Avengers: Doomsday that many people don’t know about 👀 Based on multiple reports as of May 2026, Tobey Maguire is heavily rumored and expected to return as Spider-Man in the film. He’s said to play a major role in an opening sequence involving a multiversal incursion and even a battle against the X-Men. But interestingly, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man isn’t even mentioned. However, there are three theories that could explain this. The first theory is that the chair reveal is a giant misdirect. Marvel may be putting heavy focus on casting reveals to act as a red herring, while hiding something much bigger. The third act of the film could end up being a massive blowout featuring legendary characters like Spider-Man, Captain America, and Wolverine. The second theory is the Venom “virus” idea. Many believe Peter Parker could get infected by the small piece of Venom left behind in the post-credit scene of the last movie. Since it’s not a fully developed symbiote, it could behave more like a virus, causing gradual mutations, a cocoon phase, organic webbing, and increasing strength over time. This might be why we don’t see Tom’s Spider-Man until Secret Wars, where he finally appears in the symbiote suit, similar to the comics. The third theory is that Spider-Man: Brand New Day takes place at the same time as Avengers: Doomsday. This could explain why certain characters like Hulk and others aren’t part of Doomsday but are expected to appear in Secret Wars.

At the start of Avengers: Endgame, Thor’s transformation was subtly foreshadowed 👀 He’s already seen stress-eating casually munching on a bun in one of his first scenes. A small detail that hinted at the bigger change coming later.

THE MOST UNDERRATED SPIDER-MAN DETAIL 👀 - Every universe’s Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, hides his identity to protect his personal life. - In Spider-Man: No Way Home, when Tom Holland’s Peter’s identity is revealed, he sacrifices everything his love life and friendships just to protect it again. - But Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man is different. His identity is revealed, yet it doesn’t affect him the same way. - In the train scene from Spider-Man 2, Peter stops the train but is about to fall off the bridge. - The passengers save him. - At that moment, Peter isn’t wearing his mask. - Despite seeing his face, no one exposes him. - A child even gives Peter his mask back. - And promises that no one will reveal his identity.

@shantplace Actually solid observation. The Endgame helmet redesign was lowkey one of the smartest quiet upgrades. 🙌

Have you ever noticed that Iron Man’s suit helmet was actually a huge security issue? 🤔 In Captain America: Civil War, when Iron Man opens his helmet in front of Captain America, the helmet completely detaches from his head. The same thing happens when Iron Man creates the nano suit the helmet again fully separates from his head. But in that scene where Hawkeye shoots an arrow and breaks the web from Captain America’s hands, Iron Man suddenly gets shocked after seeing the arrow and quickly covers his head with the helmet. Because in that situation, anyone could attack Iron Man from behind when his head is exposed something he wouldn’t even be able to sense. Then in Avengers: Infinity War, when the Guardians throw a bomb at the Avengers, Iron Man is only able to sense it once it comes right in front of him. After this, Iron Man realizes that using these open helmets in his suits is risky, since anyone could directly attack his head from behind. That’s why in Avengers: Endgame, even with the nano suit, he redesigns the helmet like his older suits which only opens from the front. This ensures that even when the helmet is open, no one can attack him from behind. And as you already know, Iron Man learns from his mistakes.

AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY HAS A MASSIVE PROBLEM WITH DOCTOR DOOM AND REED RICHARDS ⚡ Avengers: Doomsday is bringing together 25+ characters, but that scale might hurt its most important story Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom is reportedly the main focus, almost like Thanos in Infinity War At the same time, Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards is leading Fantastic Four and tied directly to Doom’s plans Their rivalry is one of Marvel’s biggest, yet there’s a real risk it gets lost in all the chaos The film still has to juggle Steve Rogers’ return, X-Men threads, and Loki’s God of Stories arc That’s a lot of storylines competing for attention, and not all of them can breathe properly This is happening because Doom hasn’t had years of buildup like Thanos did, so everything needs to be established fast And Marvel is clearly trying to go big again, using scale as the main selling point If the Russos don’t anchor the story around Doom and make Reed central to it, the emotional core just won’t land

THE MOST MISUNDERSTOOD MARVEL MOVIE EVER 💔 - Even Hulk had daddy issues. - People back then didn’t really understand the 2003 Hulk movie, but now, 20 years later, the internet considers it a perfect Hulk movie. - In most Hulk movies, we only see unrealistic action a guy gets angry, loses control, and breaks buildings. - But Ang Lee’s 2003 Hulk showed Bruce Banner’s real pain. - In this movie, Hulk wasn’t just a monster, he was the broken child inside Bruce. - His father had already shattered him in childhood. - Every time Bruce got angry, he was releasing the trauma he had suppressed for years. - That’s what makes this movie so deep. - One scene shows Hulk standing alone in the desert, watching the sunset. - No fight, no dialogues, just silence. - In that scene, Ang Lee showed Hulk’s emotions in a way even Marvel hasn’t shown in 10 movies. - And the biggest thing, the villain wasn’t some alien from outside. - It was Bruce’s own father.

@shantplace That desert sunset scene is pure cinema. Marvel's never gone this introspective with him again. Underrated masterpiece
