We had survived the dot com crash, outlasted Lindows and started to figure out our place in the Mac marketplace. We had grown up a little. The logo did too. bit.ly/4tHwwbI

In 2009 we started helping software companies port their Windows software to Mac. Then more companies. Then more. What started as a side hustle turned into a whole business line. In 2021 we finally named this line, PortJump. bit.ly/4tHwwbI

Use CrossOver Preview on your Mac to explore the unknown to uncover the mysteries hidden within the depths. Adapt to survive or perish. Not everything down there is an octopus's garden. bit.ly/4dJfW5M

@itsman2001 We are not on a fear spiral, it's just our 30th birthday. We're doing 30 posts in 30 days because we've been at this since 1996 and we're not exactly shy about it.

The lame duck promotion was a political joke, a free CrossOver giveaway and no guarantee it would work. It permanently doubled our web traffic and nearly doubled revenue. 16 years later, people still email us trying to redeem their lame duck serial code. bit.ly/4tHwwbI

Wine had been in development since the early 90s. It took until 2008 to hit 1.0. It shipped. Jeremy's words at the time: "The world is a more joyful place in a way I care about because of us." bit.ly/4tHwwbI

In 2007 we hired our first real QA team. For years, Wine developers had been answering support tickets. We were finally out of survival mode and starting to look like an actual company. bit.ly/4tHwwbI

Meet the 2006 logo. It knew things were turning around before we did. Apple switched to Intel. We switched to finally making money. Turns out Mac users actually pay for software. Nobody was more surprised than us. bit.ly/4tHwwbI

We're not for everyone. Apparently, we're very much for some people. The average age of our staff is 37. A lot of us showed up in our late twenties and never left. That says something. bit.ly/4tHwwbI

The dark times were real. Jeremy brought on a COO, with a $0 salary because he believed the CodeWeavers mission. We kept a whiteboard in the office with "doors closed" date on it measured in weeks. 30 years later we are still here and still waiting (j/k) bit.ly/4tHwwbI

CrossOver Plugin and CrossOver Office. One let you watch movie trailers, while the other saved the company. Both mattered. What’s the first Windows app you ran on Mac or Linux? bit.ly/4tHwwbI

The year is 2002. The month is April. CrossOver Office ships. You could run Excel on Linux. You could run Word on Linux. The team built it with no guarantees of a paycheck. Linux users rejoiced and put $150K in our bank account the first week. bit.ly/4tHwwbI

In 2002 CodeWeavers hosted the very first Wine conference ever, in San Diego. It was the year Wine switched to the LGPL license. It was also the year someone famously told a rival developer to his face that yes, he did in fact hate him. bit.ly/4tHwwbI

1999 was to be the year of the Linux desktop. Jeremy believed it too and bet the company on it. Turns out everybody was wrong. CodeWeavers survived anyway. bit.ly/4tHwwbI

In 1998 someone asked Jeremy White what he would do if he won the lottery. His answer was he would quit his job and hack on Wine full time. He didn't win the lottery. He did it anyway. In 1999 he reinvented CodeWeavers around Wine and never looked back. bit.ly/4tHwwbI

In 1999, Jeremy's (Founder) first major investment in CodeWeavers was a marketing agency to set him up with branding. They gave him this logo. The world had no idea what was coming. Neither did we, honestly. bit.ly/4tHwwbI
