@RussoHockey @JoeSmithNHL @nytimes I'm so tired of the TNT broadcast continually repeating, "He's the best defender in the league, not named Makar." I'm hoping Hughes dominates the Avs, so maybe they'll stop calling him "Not Makar" and start being able to talk about him without mentioning Makar.

@RussoHockey Can someone do some research and tell me how many times a puck over glass penalty in OT ends up being the deciding factor? Because I feel like it's a lot.

Dallas wins. Heiskanen shot and it deflects by Wyatt Johnston

@B_Marsh92 @PokeysaurusRex I'm actually ok with them taking their foot off the pedal a bit. Historically, teams that win a game by a blowout usually have a let down the next game. I like the idea of taking the 4-0 lead, not sitting back entirely, but maybe just controlling possession and cycling the puck.

@PokeysaurusRex Eh not really. This was Dallas 32 minutes into the game trailing 4-0. Had some push after that, Wild took the foot off the offensive gas pedal a bit at that point.

Went back and watched some highlights of the #mnwild goals from Game 1 and it’s just eerie how several of them were the goals that were scored against them in previous years. Tape-to-tape seam passes, speed on the rush, winning puck battles all over the offensive zone. Those are things that are repeatable on the Wild’s side of things, but also things Dallas can adjust.

@B_Marsh92 Loved seeing the guys still selling out to block shots in a game that was essentially over. Play the full 60, never give them life. That's how you get over the playoff hump

As good as a Game 1 as you could hope for. #mnwild emphatically steal a game in Dallas. Yes the goals were good, but my big takeaways from today were the Wild’s neutral zone play. They clogged that up and eliminated the Dallas rush attack. PK I thought overall was solid. Discipline, despite 4-5 penalties was good. Lots of soft calls. Wallstedt showed why Wild went to him. All the big guns stepped up and Contributed on offense. Role players like Trenin, Spurgeon, Middleton etc did exactly what they’re here to do. Just a textbook game start to finish.

@RussoHockey I see Rousseau was sent to the Heartlanders for their last two games. Wutzke and Mercer both called up. I watched Wutzke in person last night in Coralville. He's got a good demeanor for a young goalie. Hopefully he gets a start this weekend

Cal Petersen will be the #mnwild's third goalie in the playoffs. The Wild let Samuel Hlavaj return to Slovakia to join his national team. While Hlavaj is a restricted free agent this summer, I'll presume he'll be moving on and look to join another NHL team

@RussoHockey Losing Hlavaj will be unfortunate. Iowa (and Minnesota's future) would be loaded in goal if they could bring back Samuel and also have Wutzke for next year. Would be a deep goaltending depth chart with trade potential down the line.

@AnthonyLaPanta A win tonight is a must. Then Wild have Preds, Blues, Ducks. Stars have Rangers, Leafs, Sabres. Just need to win 1 more game out of those final 3 than the Stars do.

@miketheref @WONF4W Edmonton had like 6000 people last time AEW was here, and the Jericho promo with Don Callis was the loudest I've ever heard any crowd for a wrestling show live.

@WONF4W You also have to remember that they are running 17,000 seat buildings with maybe 12,000 people. The acoustics are completely different, and that saturation of sound just isn’t there. Same thing this week in Edmonton.

@TheAthleticNHL Bettman would rather have the most exciting first round, and the most boring later rounds, than to actually have a playoff structure that makes sense and creates more exciting matchups the closer you get to the Final. He's a joke, and he has been a joke for 33 years now.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has long supported the current playoff system, which doesn’t seed teams 1 through 8 in each conference. His stance didn't change at this week's NHL GM meetings, despite push back from some in the league.

@richhill_ I used to tell my personal trainer all the time that I hated Burpees and Rowing. So she opened every private training session with burpees and rowing. I wish I knew back then that there's no "mandatory" exercises.

I hate planks. They're boring. And they're time consuming. Thankfully - there's other choices I can pick from that will do the same thing. If you love planks, keep doing them. But just know there's no "mandatory" exercises out there. There are always alternatives.

@BUFSportsTalk @NHLPlayerSafety The only difference between these two instances, is that Moore was knocked unconscious by the sucker punch. If Hagel knocks out Dahlin, this is an identical situation.

There is NO PLACE for sucker punches like this in hockey. I thought the NHL made that clear in 2004, but I guess time passes and things are forgotten. Bertuzzi was suspended the entirety of the remaining season including playoffs. @NHLPlayerSafety your move.
