@JuMosq is a 5th really moving enough to ship out a good depth WR on a rookie contract? suddenly WR depth is a somewhat significant need especially if you aren’t resigning both Watson and Reed. is there another move coming (davante…)? or is this typical gute horny for draft picks

@tsm_portal @SportsCastProd If you can beat (sweep) them, you might as well join them!!!!!
Imagine spending way more money than Wisconsin, and loosing to them twice!
English

John Blackwell is trending towards transferring to Illinois per @SportsCastProd
A huge NIL deal has been offered to him that is first of its kind for Illinois

English

@MHannamake77491 @RaphealDavis3 If Glenn was healthy we would not be thinking that honestly.
English

@TheRealRedShed I was thinking a 2 guard who can shoot well while playing defense.
English

Save the money for a random 24 year old big man from a Lithuanian YMCA 🤷♂️

BREAKING: Wisconsin guard John Blackwell is entering the transfer portal, per multiple reports. The 6-4 junior from Michigan averaged 19.1 PPG and 5.1 RPG. His dad, Glynn, played for Illinois from 1984-1988.
English

@daily_msu Honestly I think we should just put all our resources into a the best possible center. Drop 6 mil.
English

@christianborman If he could have caught an out of bounds pass against high point he would have been competing for a championship this year.
English

That's embarrassing on Blackwell's part if he truly said this.
Wisconsin was the only major school to offer him and help put him in this position.

Wisconsin guard John Blackwell on his decision to transfer: “…I’m looking for a place where I compete for a national championship. A place where that’s the standard and what we’re striving for.”

@IKE_Badgers @wisconsinsane Having the money and using it properly are two different things. Mac doesn’t give Gard enough of a budget. He only gives a t to the coach who can’t identify talent (Fickell).
English

@IKE_Badgers Greg Gard is not the problem: his lack of NIL is. He finds diamonds in the rough. Fickell gets overrated busts. Mac invests more in Fickell and needs to learn investing 101.
English

@mcgaff_rob @barryisthedon (3) Mac will keep making the wrong decision even after everyone can see it’s wrong.
English

@CodyFrwl @barryisthedon (1) Mac thinks he's never been wrong about anything.
(2) Mac DGAF even if/when he is wrong.
English

@Jobo512 @barryisthedon They are giving more money to the coach who can’t use it properly!
English

@CodyFrwl @barryisthedon I’m sure there doing everything they can to get money lol
English

I'm not gonna get upset or angry at a college basketball player taking the opportunity to make millions more to play ball.
Most of us would do the same.
The bigger question is what does this mean for UW when you can't afford to retain your homegrown stars?
This would be like Purdue losing Braeden Smith to the portal.
Feel for the coaching staff and the fans on this one.

English

@barryisthedon That’s true but he’s not a badger for life now.
If Toyota offers me more money than Nissan I should take it but I can’t say I’m with Nissan for life.
English

If John Blackwell is really getting $4-5 Million next season, there should be ZERO fan anger at either him or Greg Gard
That's silly season money and the Badgers can retain/fill three spots with very high quality players for that kind of cash
Hate the game, not the player

Thank you Wisconsin! #Badger4L
English

@B_Loughrey1 @CBBcontent Dumbest thing I’ve heard today. If it weren’t for Gard, we would not have even made the tournament. All his top players are diamonds in the rough.
English

@RyanAndBucky FIRE Mac now!!!! If he gave Gard a real NIL budget we would not be having this issue. He gives Fickell money to waste on overrated players but doesn’t give Gard enough money to keep his players that he actually develops.
English

I’m not particularly surprised.
But this is a tough blow - you’re not easily replacing 19 PPG and elite shooting.
