@BeaneaterB @braves2928 It’s just not performing. Even absolutely horrible teams don’t lose 9 in a row, kinda flukey but digging ourselves too big of a hole early. If we get swept Mendoza has to go, someone needs to be held accountable

@Metsfan171 I’m not saying this team isn’t poor and the roster construction isn’t shit, which may very well be the case. But a 9 game losing streak for any team is generally flukey, even the worst of the worst teams find a way to win a single hand in stretches like these

@CohensPoint72 Calling it flukey is making excuses. I work in college athletics. Different sport. I would never say flukey to them because it gives them an excuse. This is on the worst gm and manager in baseball

Tbf everything about a 9-game losing streak is flukey. This team stinks rn but even really bad teams find a way to win one in nine. This is an albatross at the moment

I've given Stearns significant benefit of the doubt but, man, even missing Soto, it's hard to see how these Mets will suddenly morph into a good team. Red flags everywhere: offense, defense, and now the pitching as Senga is a mess. Nothing fluky about the 9-game losing streak.

@Metsfan171 It is flukey for any team. Bad teams lose 6-7-8/10 in a given period, this doesn’t happen regularly even for the worst of the worst
I hear you on the last part though, bad fundamentals and unfocused. It’s on Mendoza, been the worst team in baseball since June

@GiraffeNeckMarc The book is out on him. His sequencing is the same every time. Poor command of the fork, mentally checks out when he catches breaks, needs perfect conditions and mechanics. Just such an uncompetitive athlete.

Senga needs elite velocity to be successful and right now he doesn’t have it

Fastball velocity is a huge deal for Senga 96+ MPH (568 pitches) .176/.295/.280, .283 xwOBA, 24.1 Whiff% 96 MPH or below (1,137 pitches) .293/.363/.598, .389 xwOBA, 15.8 Whiff% Throwing that pitch hard and in the zone is the clearest way for him to be a high-end SP again
