@DonRyanMusic My definition is to first eliminate the extremist that have been lumped into the conservative ranks (neo-Nazi, white supremists, the hunker down militia, etc.). Generally I see it as being a Constitutionalist, equal rights but not favoritism, common sense, love of country & “God”

@Cointosser That being said, I'm not even sure what a mainstream Republican is nowadays, 'cause politics have become so muddled. A vision in my head of "mainstream Republican" is a Romney or McCain guy, which are unfortunately fewer are farther between these days. What's your definition?

Other than the endless lies from so many on the left and the Democratic Party establishment in particular, this is accurate. And I don't mean that sarcastically. There's no shortage of left-wing bad faith, but mainstream Democrats are nowhere near as cultish as Republicans.

@DonRyanMusic Ha, no offense Don. Any political discussion can become highly toxic these days. It’s a risk and why I rarely poke my nose into it, not worth the tension and personal repercussions. But then, it reflects our investment in life in this country and seems careless to ignore.

@Cointosser I hope you take no offense at my general analysis. I've always known you to be a perfectly sane and exceedingly wise person. In fact, when Rubby told me in '08 that you were a conservative, it was a coming-of-age moment for young Don, in which I realized that Good =/= Democrat.
