tax day feels like the perfect time for a little career update ↓ after 3 tax seasons, I'm wrapping up my time at @CoinTracker this week. One reconciliation check before you file can save you a lot of hassle later. The IRS matching system compares your Form 8949 proceeds directly to what your exchange reported on your 1099-DA. Before you file, do this one thing: add up the proceeds on every 1099-DA you received and confirm your tax software shows the same total. If they match, you're in good shape. If they don't → it's worth 30 minutes now to understand why. A much easier conversation before filing than after. Most mismatches come down to a missing transaction or a miscategorized transfer.
