It’s like when you watch Texas Hold ‘em on ESPN.. Based on the cards dealt, there is a certain percentage that a particular player is going to win, when the cards start being flipped you see those percentages go up or down… It’s kinda like that for these veteran QBs, there’s a certain percentage they have in their minds based on presnap looks that the ball is “most likely” to go… ie: 80% to the post 20 % to the crosser And as the cards are flipped ( the ball is snapped) the presnap percentage goes up and down to the post based on what the defense actually does.. If the percentage goes up they play fast and the ball comes out where they thought it would go.. If the percentage goes down based on the defense taking the past away after the snap then conversely the percentage to the crosser goes up.. Good qbs play fast because they play the pre snap percentages of where the ball is probably going without getting stuck because the picture changed post snap
