there's nothing perplexity computer does that manus can't do... they went ALL IN on frontend skills: apps look good but the moment you try to get something a little complex to work, it breaks

serious question: did anyone actually win here? - the department of war looks a bit petty & vindictive. - anthropic gained some consumer goodwill, but they were not as communicative or clear in a very important conversation. - openai stepped in to try to save the day but the lack of clarity & confusion caused potentially lingering issue on both sides (employees & customers). this may be a stupid question but why can’t the govt just use different models for different functions? some models will be better for logistics, others for analysis, & others for simulation. yes, it’s operationally complex but that seems like the reality of frontier ai. anyway, i'm done with this topic for the near future.

Hot take: The best product usually doesn't win. The best distribution always wins. Your competitors have better code. But you'll win if you have a better audience. Build in public. That's your unfair advantage.

they want to control AI because they already lost control of distribution, the ability to get attention. so the next move is owning the source of info. and right now you’re asking Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini everything. whoever trained those models gets to decide what you know. stop for a second. think about how fucking powerful that is. use these LLMs as a multiplier. but never outsource your agency or that little voice in your head.

Nobody can ever say to you again, "how do you have the time to build so many different software projects?" Perplexity Computer is here. You can, and should, build absolutely anything you can dream of. And I can tell you, you now have the time because it really is the everything computer. It does everything you don't and might never have the time to do. Build, build, and build some more. Congrats to @AravSrinivas, @alexgraveley and team, this is without a doubt a life-changing product.

Your first $200K as a freelancer? It's not on Upwork or Fiverr. Job boards mean a race to the bottom. Clients there want cheap labor. The real money is where buyers look for experts: → Twitter (build in public) → LinkedIn (case studies + proof) → Your own website (portfolio that sells) → Communities (Reddit, Discord, niche forums) Stop applying. Start positioning.
