@robcanis Yes, it is a shame. I'd have liked to support the event after all the effort @UK_Wildlife has put into it, plus it would have been great to finally meet @Cole2Matt who I've known on line for years. Would have been good to catch up with you too, of course!

Looks like a great event with some top speakers. Unfortunately I won't be able to attend as I'm in the Cairngorms that weekend, but it looks like a fantastic day for those who can make it.

Up to now, there was no longer a nature photography festival in the UK (RIP SNPF) until that is, Neil Phillips (@UK_Wildlife) stepped in and put together the Nature and Wildlife World Photography Conference. More details here. towngatetheatre.co.uk/nwpc/

@Rachael_Swindon genuine question: Do you think Labour can get elected without the 'centrist' vote?

Incredibly, the FBPE cult aren’t as boisterous as usual. I think this might have something to do with their saviours being on the cusp of propping up a Tory government. I think I’d keep my mouth shut too.

@jk_rowling what on earth does 'leaving the European Union well, perhaps brilliantly' mean? Two years since the referendum and still utterly vacuous

This is every school kid, ever, who hasn’t done the reading, can’t answer the question, but thinks he can wing it by spouting empty nonsense with total self-assurance.

@Nigel_Farage How about another boat-based protest? They always work well and make you look very statesmanlike. Genuinely. There's nothing funny about them at all.

@Rachael_Swindon not helped by the fact that Labour can't talk about Brexit as their Brexit position is indistinguishable from that of the Tories. Just heard Tom Watson on Radio 5 and all he could do was criticise the Tories' internal divisions and lamely refer to Labour's 'job's first' Brexit

Alarmingly, the entire news agenda is dominated by Tory Party resignations & huge internal divisions, & not Brexit itself. Britain’s future is being used as part of an internal power struggle, there is no unity and the Chequers plan is an absolute sham. And the world looks on.

Huge thanks to everyone who sent messages of support. Now is a time for cool heads and taking stock. I’ll do no more media today.

@Digbylj if Brexiteers hadn't convinced themselves how easy Brexit would be ('we hold all the cards', 'easiest in history', 'queuing up', 'in the bag') then maybe they could've come up with a plan? And then maybe 2 years after the ref the govt wouldn't still be negotiating with itself.

What choice did David Davies have frankly? He’s asked to go to Barnier & say “here’s £39 billion, we want no say in making the rules but, in reality, we’ll stay in your Club & take it from Berlin & Brussels”. Ridiculous.

@davidallengreen @Digbylj wait, is he slowly starting to realise that these trade deals are not in fact 'in the bag'? Fantasy meets reality...

@MarcusFysh Why would a company do this *because of Brexit*? What possible advantages would Brexit provide to this company that didn't exist pre-Brexit? And how could these advantages outweigh the loss of frictionless trade with the single market? It's all nonsense and you know it.

Overheard in the Labour end of the tea room just now: "I've just heard a company is relocating production to my constituency from the EU because of Brexit - £60m investment, 115 jobs - won't be tweeting about that obviously!" #despitebrexit

@andreajenkyns There is an overwhelming consensus amongst economists that there is no economic case for Brexit, short-term or long-term. So if you're arguing for Brexit please be honest and do so on other grounds. It is fundamentally dishonest to argue for Brexit on economic grounds.

Brexit is about our country’s long-term economic future. It is vital that we get the right kind of Brexit for our children’s future. The government needs to act now to ensure that we are not sold out by those who want to keep us shackled to the EU.  andreajenkyns.co.uk/news/why-i-wro…
