@_CanvasAndKeys @yehhmisi actually starting with understanding how computers actually work is the correct way. Learning to use pointers is actually helpful, as is learning how to allocate and deallocate memory - even better still to start with assembler. Most modern programming are just candy

@yehhmisi C, C++, maybe Java are horrible languages for introductions to programming. Computer Science programs start with Pseudo Code first before introducing programming languages. You build the foundation from the bottom, understand logic and instructions before thinking of pointers.

There’s a reason why languages like C, C++, and Java are taught as introductions to programming in computer science.
