"Every radio station in the country has just been notified by Coimisiún na Meán of a huge increase in the Levy to be charged on the radio broadcasting sector for 2026," independent broadcasters said, adding that it would be "simply unaffordable" for some. jrnl.ie/7020237

@Niall_Boylan this is without doubt the most un implementable law in history - only a complete moron could come up with the idea - and I am a strong anti-smoking advocate. you either ban production and sale of cigarettes or nothing - but there is alot of tax revenue tied up there of course

Coming up on the show live at 12pm: The UK is to introduce a smoking ban for people born after 2008, which has been hailed as a “historic moment for the nation’s health”. The new law will see smoking and vaping banned initially for those under 18, with the age rising by one year every year. Essentially, smoking will be banned completely for everybody within the next 80 years, unless you live past 100. Should Ireland do the same and make tobacco and vaping illegal? Comments to WhatsApp on 085 100 22 55.

The gender critical or TERF machine from Tasmania is on the warpath seeking to attack a qualified doctor (of which Australia needs more), who did nothing wrong in the UK. They just don’t like who she it.⬇️ Pure hate from these people. #Auspol2026

@ripx4nutmeg @SDewherst I agree when it comes to LGB but not TQ+ as that has demonstrably shown to cause harm through recent studies etc. but again as they are so captured I’m not surprised. Hungry should only concede on LGB and double down on TQ+

The European Court of Justice has taken the unprecedented step of ruling that a Hungarian law, which says under 18s cannot change their gender, broke the founding values of the EU Treaty, meaning it is "incompatible with the EU's fundamental identity" bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@_CanvasAndKeys @yehhmisi actually starting with understanding how computers actually work is the correct way. Learning to use pointers is actually helpful, as is learning how to allocate and deallocate memory - even better still to start with assembler. Most modern programming are just candy

@yehhmisi C, C++, maybe Java are horrible languages for introductions to programming. Computer Science programs start with Pseudo Code first before introducing programming languages. You build the foundation from the bottom, understand logic and instructions before thinking of pointers.

There’s a reason why languages like C, C++, and Java are taught as introductions to programming in computer science.

@yehhmisi I think bringing in Java as an introductory language unnecessarily lowered the bar to entry, and as a result has a lot to answer for. I started with Pascal, C, and assembler myself.

Theodore 'Beth' Upton is trending once more. The biological male ex NHS doctor has fled the UK for Australia, where he's now registered as a female practitioner - a jurisdiction that offers even less robust safeguards for single-sex spaces and women's rights than Britain. This is him ⬇️ He likes to sit and make notes on which women get changed with him and which refuse to, btw.

What exactly is inclusive about allowing people to wear different clothes to everyone else? It’s a uniform, it represents the school, it’s already inclusive of everyone attending.
