Here's more of Lewis, who has taken to following me along the fence line when I go to visit him on my semi-daily (depending on my schedule) walk around grounds. Giraffes aren't normally this social with people, so he's quickly becoming one of my favorites at the Zoo.

So here's the thing. You can only violate people's legal rights and your own word so far before they lawyer up and come after you. I really do hope Musk changes his mind and does the right thing - the employees deserve that. But it'll be fun as hell if he doesn't.

I just bought a wood carving of a shoebill (THE MOST SINISTER BIRD) for my new office at the zoo and my coworkers are about to find out how weird I am. I also bought art prints of an oppossum with cupcakes, a raccoon with antlers, a rabbit piloting a flying saucer...Etsy ftw.

@werbette @KariDawnK @ColinOBoyle I once saw a shoebill IRL at the Aviary. I was in the big room flamingos and I looked to my left and suddenly it was there on the railing, 5ft away. It didn't do anything but stare at me, but holy effing shit. They're small but they're scary.
