You know the whole ‘the championship will be fun, loads of random teams and new grounds’ thing… have you looked at the competition lately? It’s mostly all teams that have played in the PL fairly recently and deffo shithoused us at some point. Truly a nightmare.

Historian of our club as you know but what you may not is that having been sceptical of the THST for some time last year I was elected onto the board. I wanted to see the inner workings. For what it's worth it is eye-opening - in good ways and bad. 1/2

When Venkatesham stood up last summer and said we want to win the Premier League and the Champions League, those are not throwaway ambitions. They are statements that imply structural change, elite recruitment, and a level of alignment that touches every department of the club. Yet the appointment of Thomas Frank never quite married with that rhetoric. That is not a slight on Frank as a coach. He is intelligent, measured, and has done strong work in constrained environments. But there is a vast difference between overperforming at a well run mid table club and building a machine capable of competing with Manchester City, Arsenal, or Liverpool over thirty eight relentless league games and deep European runs. Now we hear Roberto De Zerbi mentioned. Again, an interesting coach. Progressive. Brave in possession. Potentially more watchable. But if the question is whether he demonstrably elevates us into the bracket occupied by Arsenal and City, there is no body of evidence that says he does. Attractive football is not the same thing as title contending football. Control without ruthlessness wins admiration, not trophies. Then look at the squad honestly. Who walks straight into the starting eleven at Manchester City? At Arsenal? At Liverpool? Perhaps one or two on their day. But that is the point. Elite teams are built on layers of excellence. Depth of quality. Physical dominance. Relentless standards. We are not close to that threshold. So where exactly is the catalytic moment coming from? A manager alone cannot close that gap. A new voice in the dressing room cannot compensate for structural recruitment issues. A hopeful press conference cannot bridge a talent deficit. To reach the level publicly stated requires coordinated bravery in the transfer market, in wage structure, in sporting direction, and in long term vision. At the moment, optimism feels emotional rather than strategic. Fans understandably feel a lift now Frank has gone. Change always carries the illusion of momentum. But real momentum will only be visible when the board’s next actions align with their ambitions. Not just in words, but in risk appetite. In decisive recruitment. In clarity of identity. Fortune favours the brave. And historically, Spurs have preferred caution to courage. If the club truly intends to sit at the same table as Arsenal and City, then this is the inflection point. The next appointment, the next transfer window, and the next structural decisions will tell us whether those ambitions were a slogan or a strategy.

Spurs 9pts & 4 places above relegation. This followed 17th last season. 6 PL games w/out a win. Can barely field a side due to injuries. Children on the bench. Transfer window shuts in a few hours. Yet the club is sitting on its hands doing NOTHING! ABSOLUTELY SHAMBOLIC.

Am I the only one who has more ill will towards Frank after last night? The team is capable of playing like that but I've paid hundreds, if not thousands, of pounds to watch us stink the place out against significantly worse opposition? He's a fraud and a coward.

Here's every word Thomas Frank just said on Spurs fans chanting for him to be sacked, why he took Tel off, why he deserves more time, why Spurs haven't improved in attack, playing Bissouma, his line-up leaking and Venkatesham's letter to the supporters. football.london/tottenham-hots…

Trump may genuinely have just saved the BBC. Before it was being attacked from all sides for both valid and made up reasons. Now most of the nation is fully backing the BBC in the face of a twat who thinks he can use money and the courts to silence people he doesn't like.
