Manchester United should offer Manuel Ugarte as a straight swap for Sandro Tonali. Newcastle United will let an unsettled player leave who has no interest in playing for them, in return they get a midfielder more suited to their style of football which is workman like with zero imagination. Perfect fit for all.

Brace yourselves the transfer window is almost here, and with it comes the usual chaos. We’re going to be linked with everyone. Some names will make sense, some will be completely underwhelming. Some reports will carry real substance, others will be pure noise. All I’m asking for is clarity and conviction from United this time. We cannot head into another season with the same midfield issues, and going without a proper left back again would be negligence at this point. On that note Skelly and Lewis Hall are both talented, no doubt. But if it comes down to it, I’m taking Lewis Hall every time. Skelly isn’t a natural left back, and filling in there doesn’t suddenly make him the solution. We need specialists, not experiments.
