Here’s the big Q: Let’s say they both cost €15m or there abouts. Would you rather we sign Grimaldo or push to keep Cancelo?

@pesstar4 @BouafifNour Yeah you are right but it’s always dangerous to see a player play in a certain system and assume that’s all they’re good for. Sometimes they’re just executing what their current manager is asking for.

@Colinvm26 @BouafifNour But it's also about the natural ability and mindset of a player. Some are just more comfortable to drop deep and get more touched while some are comfortable making runs in behind to chase balls.

I don’t really hate João Pedro as an option. He’s a quality player overall, and I’ve liked him since his time at Brighton. Technically, he’s excellent, creative, intelligent, and clinical. The main issue, similar to what I said about Álvarez, is that he’s not really a target man who provides strong box presence. He’s not a natural poacher and doesn’t consistently get himself into a high volume of goal-scoring positions, and I think that profile is more suited to Flick’s system. That said, like with Álvarez, his overall quality might be good enough to justify adapting the system a bit, especially considering how dry the striker market is right now. I’d still be happy if we end up with him, he’s a solid alternative. Although i honestly have no idea about the cost and or how realistic the deal actually is.

@BouafifNour I know they aren’t the big target men some are looking for but when is the last time you saw that type thrive in Barcelona? Their hold up play is more than respectable given their postures. If Flicks system was working with a 36 year old lewa last season these 2 won’t be worse

@BouafifNour But isn’t that the byproduct of the teams they play in? I mean let’s be honest, atleti and chelsea are not creating loads of chance on a regular basis without them dropping deep and help create it. If you have pedri and yamal assisting you i would imagine that would change

Could you say the same about chelsea’s transfer decisions lately? Pretty sure the Chelsea protest wasn’t about how well run the club has been over the past years.

We have no problem paying man utd 30mil for rashford if we felt like he’s the best option for us. He just isn’t so we are not doing so. Also his wages are incredibly high for a rotational player.

@Mhoni_Hiyst Well yes but replacing rapha in today’s market will be impossible for us unless you buy multiple players. A winger with 1v1 abilities and a striker that can lead the press. If we can’t do that i wouldn’t sell him.

@BouafifNour Anyone expecting a player to perform well without consistent game time has never played the sport.

This is the highlight of our fanbase, 45 minutes is enough for them to completely change their opinion on a player. He’s literally done well in almost every small opportunity he’s been given, but one, not even bad, just average performance, in a game where the whole team looked lost, and suddenly he’s not good.

@CaptnGuardiola Some are simply not in form or need a leader to guide them. But others have been so abysmal to the point that i don’t believe they can turn it around.

@CaptnGuardiola The game time management needs to improve for sure, but i do not trust these defenders to defend deeper either. I saw our defensive line at the edge of the box yesterday and they still got through with 1 pass. Zero composure in their clearances if they even win the duel, ..

@ReshadFCB With all due respect we’re probably not gettign rashford and his off the ball effort is on of the bigger reasons why. I can not for the life of me understand how leao would solve that situation. He litterally walks 80% of the game?

@NealGardner_ I do agree but selling ferran means we have to get 2 new strikers or at least a winger actually capable op playing the striker position. I do not see us doing so and we can not keep lewandowski.

I’ll be honest, I think this summer is the perfect time to cash out on Kounde. Similar to Ferran, he’s one of our few saleable assets where we can offload without much compromise. Anything over €50m works imo.
