Worth a think about. Which non-existent past are you harking after? How can quarrels, woken through mixing decision making systems, that fracture the country along lines that don’t match anyone’s mental maps of the place be settled to any kind of satisfaction?

Very significant. A major breach in the ideological defence of corporate power to establish prices. We need to demand it's followed through, given expected food price rises to come. Raise issue of supermarket CEO pay. Target profiteering. Protests outside supermarkets/their HQs

Unless you've been sniffing glue, I don't know how you can look at the massive taxes, the regulatory burden, the high minimum wage, the price caps on various services, and the very generous State Pension and then claim that the UK has had 40 years of neoliberalism.

The only good thing I can see coming from an Andy Burnham premiership is that gilt yields go through the roof, he's forced to resign, the IMF steps in, and we finally get some of this 'neoliberalism' he keeps banging on about.

The “Vibecession” was key to the downfall of Bidenomics. This must read paper leverages scanner data to show: People were right to be worried about affordability. Real wages can fail to capture the actual living standards of the majority. We need better measures of affordability.
