Homeless people are using dogs to test drugs for them on Skid Row in Los Angeles, California. Non-profit group Starts With One Today says dogs are being abused, thrown away, sold for drugs, neglected, and fed drugs to make sure there is no fentanyl. Animal advocates are ripping Mayor Karen Bass and other elected officials for not taking enough action. “We’re coming out here, risking our lives to help these dogs with no support from the government,” said volunteer Joey Tuccio.

NEW: Footage released of a Chicago officer shooting his female police partner, who had allegedly broken off their romantic relationship. Prosecutors say Baker "accidentally discharged" his gun, while the female officer's family previously said the situation "does not pass the smell test," according to local news. Officer Carlos A. Baker and Officer Krystal Rivera are seen in the bodycam footage chasing a suspect. Suspect Jaylin Arnold had been observed walking with an "unusual bulge" under his jacket, which they believed may have been a drum magazine. The officers were seen chasing after Arnold, who ran into a building. As Baker headed up the stairs and as Arnold ran into an apartment, Baker was seen firing a single shot, which hit Rivera, who was following behind. Roughly 2 minutes after the shooting, Baker made his way down the stairs to Rivera's motionless body, according to investigators. Rivera family attorney, Antonio Romanucci, said the officers were in an "on again, off again" romantic relationship. Rivera reportedly ended the relationship after learning Baker was seeing another woman. She allegedly threatened to tell the other woman about their relationship. Baker’s attorney says that his client "unintentionally discharged" his weapon and that he "immediately called for EMS, carried Krystal to safety, and ensured she was being transported to the hospital."

Woman rips Dunkin' Donuts after they opened a new location in South Los Angeles that doesn't let people inside. Customers can either order through the drive-thru or use a touch-screen ordering machine. The new location is at the border of the 77th Street and Southeast LAPD divisions, which account for about 17% of all violent crime in Los Angeles, according to the California Post. NEW: Attorney for Camp Mystic accused of telling the attorneys for 8-year-old Cile Steward, whose body has still not been found, that they were "gonna burn in hell." Camp Mystic is the Texas camp where 27 people, including 25 children, died during a flood last summer. "When we were done yesterday… I asked [Camp Mystic attorney] Mr. Ray, I walked over and I said, 'You know maybe before you talk about the integrity of me and my team, maybe you just ought to ask us about the facts,'" Beckworth said. Beckworth said this is the moment when attorney Thomas Wright jumped in. "[Wright] said, ‘You’re gonna burn in hell,' and then he told [fellow attorney Christina] Yarnell, 'You’re gonna burn in hell.'" Beckworth said. Wright Close Barger & Guzman law firm has since released a statement following the incident: "After a long day in court, my emotions were running high, and I let them get the best of me. For that I sincerely apologize to both attorneys, to the court and to all involved. NEW: Singer D4vd, 21, arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a 14-year-old girl whose decomposed body was allegedly found in his abandoned Tesla. The remains of Celeste Rivas were found in the trunk of a Tesla on September 8. Her decomposed head and torso were found in one bag, with other body parts found in another. Rivas' family had reported her missing multiple times over the years, with the most recent being in April 2025. Leading up to his arrest, D4vd (David Anthony Burke) had not been cooperative in the case, according to NBC LA. Burke was arrested at his property in the Hollywood Hills. Video: TMZ.

NEW: Tanner Horner, who pleaded guilty to murdering 7-year-old Athena Strand, seen on camera reacting to a woman telling him that a "seven-year-old kid" had been kidnapped. During the trial today, jurors broke down in tears after audio footage was played of Horner killing Athena after he told her to take off her shirt and said she was "really pretty." Athena repeatedly asked for her mother. "Horner is then heard asking Athena to remove her shirt, and there are several moments when she says "no" and asks for her mom. That was followed by repeated sounds of crying, screaming and banging," NBC reported. Jurors were also shown footage (below) of Horner being stopped while trying to deliver packages. He was told by a woman that the road was blocked off because a "seven-year-old kid" had been kidnapped. "Are you serious?" Horner said. Give this man the death penalty.
