This is right kind of advice for Indians overall. Being too invested in things you don't have control over, leads nationalists to bcm bpillers overtime. Boomers anyways will do what they what to do. You'll be much happier if you don't stand for anything in India.
ChadpreetBallsdeep@goodbroto

Bhai padhai krlo, you are too invested in things you don't have any control over. That lack of control is what leads most nationalists to become blackpillers over time. U are having too much faith on boomer men who are only good for sharing their wives, to take decisions that requires having balls.

Why is Western coverage of India the way it is? Some of it is editorial bias. More of it is the fact that outrage about India sells in India. But the biggest layer, the one Delhi still doesn't fight on, is something older and harder. It is information warfare. 🧵

North Indian politicians never attempt to lobby for such projects. For at least 50 years, especially since 1962, a big portion of prestigious research projects have settled in south

India to manufacture ~140 AMCA stealth jets at Puttaparthi; Andhra allots 600 acres to Defence Research and Development Organisation. Project size ~₹1 lakh crore; final assembly/testing hub near Aeronautical Development Agency Bengaluru base.

Again a project of national level importance going to South. Almost of these investments have been going there from a long time. Ppl just to see the difference number of DRDO labs in south vs North. However, northie netas won't care for all of this, which is a curse.

No amount of doomerism and blackpilling can stop India's march towards greatness in my lifetime I have only seen evidence supporting my confidence mostly, of course with caution While the constant complaints on indegenisation and R&D do have some basis, they however lack in proportionality relative to the structurally administrative, political and development related limitations It is not an insult when people refer India as Elephant Elephant is very strong... walks slow but each of its step is firm with a big stride... And they are steady and intelligent... Not to forget they also have very long memory like India has about its civilisational journey, including post 1947

This👇is as curious as the raging critique of Nandan N. We dont have as much $, so lets give up. Did DeepSeek spend $70bn? Has the frontier of creativity and excellence set in stone @ Google/MS model of AI capex?
Anurag Ramdasan@anuragwho

There is a lot of chest thumping happening around this, claiming that India should also aim to build its own models, which just doesn't work. we are just nowhere capable of doing this today. Anthropic recently spoke about their new model called Mythos, which is setting a whole different benchmark on what a model should be, and it cost $10 billion to train that model. Reliance, which is our largest conglomerate in India, just did $10 billion of profit for the whole year. the big 4 tech all generate more than $100bn FCF. It is nonsensical to say that we should just pool in enough capital and make such a model happen! The Big 4s are spending $700 billion this year in capex for models. Even if we want to, there is no way for us to play in this game! What @NandanNilekani is saying is correct. We still have to have a meaningful role here in the capacity that is possible for us, where there is room for success for us, where we have the ability to solve our problems, train a massive population of our people into being AI-first, and that's where real value will emerge. Someday we will also have our models, but just to say today, maybe Infosys should invest and make it happen. India doesn't have that kind of money yet.

@ChathamHouse 1) CRITIQUE The article completely focuses on IWT - in isolation. As if an agreement can exist in isolation. Decades of terror sponsorship from Pakistan has been ignored for example. This is an established fact but the article hardly covers that.

Paying money by giving contracts will be easier than building LLMs. So there are ppl who'll defend even idiocy like this. Hope India had scientists like Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai to develop space and nuclear programs not losers like OP who will simply give up all to amrikans.

Twitter person - "Nilekani is a loser. India should lead in AI" Me - "How? What resources do we need to lead? How do we get those resources. How do we leapfrog those ahead of us. How do we compete on frontier research" Twitter person - " Umm.. ahh.. well. I don't know but we should definitely aim for it" Me - "Ok. What does it mean to lead the world in AI. Quantify it" Twitter person - " Umm. It is hard to quantify. Maybe the number of research papers" Me - " Vague. But how many papers does India publish which are the bleeding edge of AI? What about US? What about China?" Twitter person - "No" Then maybe, shut up? If anyone has any answers on HOW India will lead AI research in say, the next 5 years, I am all ears Otherwise calling Mr. Nilekani (who is the architect of possibly the best public digital infra in the world) a loser is just downright stupid and shows how little you understand about the nature of technological innovation Saying things like "India will lead AI" without any understanding of the 'HOW' is useless chest thumping You are behaving like a neta who gives baseless speeches without a plan. You are behaving like a useless, misleading populist. Be better

If a state has extreme violence during elections all the time (as WB has had over 4 decades), it loses the right to complain of "militarisation of civic life" during said elections. Just as areas w/endemic insurgencies lose the right to complain of militsrisation of policing..
Vaishna Roy@vaishnaroy

The Bengal laboratory: The massive deployment of Central forces in West Bengal ahead of elections is more than a security measure; it is a methodical militarisation of civic life that began at the margins and is moving towards the centre. By Ankush Pal frontline.thehindu.com/politics/benga…
