I think that this idea that we had to sell a player because they wanted to go is just an excuse the club gives for doing the thing they wanted to do anyway. First of all, there are degrees of "wanting to go" from being open to the idea to refusing to ever play for the club again

@droppedballs_fb 10m a year more than I thought we’d give him/id have given him. I know qb is the most important position but that’s steep for a qb who’s injury prone, missing multiple games every year n who rn one leg has a torn achilles n the other has a broken bone. At least it’s only 2 years.
