Thinking more about a half-formed point I tried to make @ComSciConGTA re: analogies. I said something like, "if you are going to introduce an analogy, commit to it and use it again later. Otherwise, re-think using it at all". I think I'd add "maybe a simile would be enough?"

Anyone going to @sciencepolicy conf. this year? 📝📝 scientificanada.ca would like to virtually send someone to take conference notes and report back. I know some @ComSciConGTA and @ComSciConCAN attendees were interested in @E4Dca and policy in general...

In the past week I’ve had the opportunity to attend two very cool conferences through volunteer involvement - @pangbornsymp and @ComSciConGTA! Hearing/seeing so many different ways to *clearly communicate* science has me really excited for future presentations/conferences 🥰

And just like that- #CSCGTA21 is a wrap!! 👏 Thank you to all the panelists, workshop hosts, organizers, and attendees for making this event so fantastic! 🤩🎉 More thank yous to come 🔜

Absolutely brilliant workshop by @nancyWatt1 at @ComSciConGTA discussing the humour in #SciComm Nancy's talk was incredibly engaging, and made me feel so relaxed to turn on my camera and participate in the activities! One of the best Sci Comm workshops I've ever been part of!

Communicating with diverse audiences panel with @ComSciConCAN was amazing. To communicate science we first have to interrogate the ableist/racist/sexist structure of science itself and find out who's voices we're not hearing, why are people not connecting with science? #CSCC21

If there is one thing I learnt listening to Dr. Nasser @latifnasser today at ComSciCon CAN keynote is the power of reverse engineering and how I can tell good stories while keeping my scientific rigor and integrity. #CSCC21 #scicomm

Create-a-thon at @ComSciConGTA #comscicongta was super fun and motivating, thanks for having me as a reviewer! Makes me want to re-attempt to start that #scicomm co-working space on discord... Having people around to talk through ideas is like, pretty helpful huh?
