So we are back at knocking on doors again. As a self employed person with no meaningful connections in both government and the private sector (contrary to popular belief) we have to knock on those doors. What I have learnt it is seldom the people you ‘know’ who will receive your pleas positively. Don’t be dissuaded. Drop the entitlement. The people in power who ‘know’ you don’t owe you anything. Widen your reach. The world is big enough. Keep knocking. You will eventually land where you are needed, where you can add value and where your skill is appreciated. What’s beautiful about this is that your tenacity, resilience and professional integrity become your trump cards. And there’s power in that. Oh, and please do whatever it takes to nurture your mental health and physical wellbeing. Whatever it takes. May God bless you.
