@KySquirrel_90 @EricDJuly I'd guess around Fall if production is starting on interiors and assuming the new lower page count is somewhere from 50 to 70 pages.

@baki43340 What political agendas are in the books? I've read them all. There isn't any agenda in them.

Eric is on point. One of my favorite examples of the Old Guard mentality was a “pro” years ago saying indies would have “A, B, and C” teams and maybe the Bs and Cs could work their way into “A team.” Who would decide? Pros! 🙄😄 My response: Pound sand. People who fashion themselves some Indie League Comics commissioner or team owner get really upset when you tell them that you aren’t part of their league and, in fact, you’re not even playing the same game. I care about my creative team. I care about my readers. I do not care about arbitrary rules made by entitled men who think they deserve to be at the top of some hierarchical “community” power structure.
Eric July@EricDJuly

If I can chime in on this conversation: What we are seeing is the Old Guard and Entitled realize they no longer have control of the industry. Means have been decentralized and nobody, veteran or not, can dictate who can create. "Independent" does not mean "guy/gal that worked in the mainstream for decades, finally doing their own thing." They treat "indie" like it's a cabal or mafia that get to decide who is legitimate and who gets to create. They treat it like it's some elitist club. They treat it like a fixed pie which reeks of socialistic/communistic nonsense and lack of economic understanding. In other words, they think because someone supports another creator, less people will support them. THIS IS THE OPPOSITE OF INDEPENDENT. That is why they tried to shift to this "quality" debate when they were outperformed by young talent. And that "quality" debate comes from the same line of thinking: Only the "pros" or the anointed get to decide what's good and what's not. The truth is, ONLY the market decides and once it speaks, it speaks. It does not care about how hard you work, how long you worked in the mainstream, or who cosigns your effort. For a decade, when fans took it to social media and video platforms to voice their complaints on the industry, they were told to shut up and do their own thing. So, many took them up on that. Many failed, but others have created successful properties through unconventional means (See: @TheRippaverse and @iconic_comics). It is silly to find there to be a problem when they stopped being critics and started being DOERS. Yes, there's a difference between someone trying to do a one-off comic... and building an actual comic book company. But either way, the market will decide the staying power. Everybody in the comic book industry needs to understand that this is the future. It's not even about "influencers." It's about people being able to create without going through the 'proper channels'. Every single entertainment industry is going through this same adjustment. It happened in Music, it's happening in gaming. There are going to be people that produce what the marked finds as GOOD, that were not spit-out by the mainstream industry. Their business strategy will be unique and unconventional. You're eventually (including me), going to get outperformed by someone you deemed as an amateur by classic standards. But you don't get to decide who is undeserving. Pushing back on this just makes you look like a bitter elitist. Someone else's success is not the reason for your lack thereof. Instead, get out there and get to work. Most importantly, embrace and adjust to the market. You can't speak your prominence into existence.

@EricDJuly Also, ya'll should keep in mind that despite it's massive successes, it's a Universe at a nascent stage w/ a streetcrime level, cosmic level, magic level, science level and it's expanding. You might not find something that's your cup of tea right now, but give it time.

I totally understand if you don't like The Rippaverse and all it has to offer. That's an opinion you're free to have and voice. There are many other comic options out there. But others having fun in our journey should not upset you. You shouldn't be so worked up that you're constantly angry when people speak positively about us. If you find yourself actively looking for people that support us so that you can tell them off... perhaps it's time to take a little break from the internet. You shouldn't feel threatened by people's enjoyment. Be Happy.

Between music, political/ geek-culture commentary, I've met some awesome people. Fandom and the love for certain properties brought many of us together. But there's a LOT of creative talent in this space that got sort of pigeonholed into being commentators because there's a big audience that values their opinions or general content. I was one of them. Since the launch of The Ripppaverse, I took several steps back to focus on the company. Plus, there are better options out there that have a knack for commentating anyway. Everybody has their complaints on the state of American entertainment. I think people are recognizing the need for original content. Do not get me wrong, there's still a need for the commentators. For many people, that IS their talent. But for others, their talent is better utilized CREATING or contributing in some way to a team that does. It doesn't mean they have to drop commentary or other hobbies all together. It's about adjusting priorities and energy. Constantly talking politics or other people's content can be mind-numbing for creative people. The Rippaverse is about fun, and that's what it'll remain about. But it has given me this great opportunity to bring a lot of friends and colleagues along the way. It's one of the coolest things about this. We get to bring in some awesome people (like Gothix) and put them in positions that best utilizes their talent, as they contribute to building this independent company. In the near-future, there's going to be plenty of opportunity. I believe you're going to see many of your favorite 'content creators' contribute to more original creations. I'm excited for the future and look forward to seeing many more people cross into the creative spaces. The parallel economy needs it, and so does Western entertainment.

So this is a pic of one of our heroes of the @TheRippaverse , named Zalen - created by @Dixonverse and @JoeBenn33636019 . This is new for you all, but this is about a year old for me, hehe. I did it as a fan art early last year cause I was hyped about this character. But due to him not being announced yet, I had to keep it in the cupboard, hehe. Since he’s announced, here you go! Excited for you all to see this guy in action soon! He def put me in the frame of mind of an Allmight! I think that’s why I dig him so much! Hehe. Get ready for a cosmic adventure you’ll greatly enjoy!

*Ahem*...... No. Remake or remaster older games if you want money for reused content. No one wants these new era remasters that barely change anything for games that are less than a decade old.
Culture Crave 🍿@CultureCrave

Former PlayStation studios boss Shuhei Yoshida says fans should support remasters if they want first-party PS5 games 🎮 “Single-player games now cost so much, so they need additional income by doing remasters and porting to PC to be able to do that" (via @KindaFunnyVids)
