Part of me wants to believe that this "Destiny 2 is ending" is a marketing tactic to galvanize the community, so Sony/Bungie can turn around and say it's not ending and look like hero's while bring people back with the fear of the game dying...

We’re all sad Destiny 2 is ending and worried about the possibility that this is it for Destiny entirely. And if we all move on to new games then this might be the end.
But it doesn’t have to be. Let’s be positive:
- they are adding a pile of content and loot in the June 9th drop. Potentially hundreds of new weapons and piles of armor
- if we play and show Sony the value left in this IP they will make more. There is less risk in a D3 sequel with an active D2 player base than there is in new IP
- log in on June 9th. And keep logging in and playing the content you love and collecting the new loot

Come to think of it, its VERY interesting that Sony is doing this. Again if they werent interested in seeing player engagement and seeing if people will put action into their words they’d EOS the game.
They’ve given Bungie the chance to put out one more major update then given “free” access to all the game’s content to PS+ Subs. You cant convince me that Sony isn’t going to be watching closely to what happens over the next month and change
